We read all kinds of articles in the build up to a final and one can point out one hundred reasons why a team could win and why the opponents can win, but for me the mental preparation is really one of the most important parts in the buildup.

It matters not what we as supporters believe or say in the press or on blogs or on whatever other forum, what matters is pretty simple!!!

“BELIEVE” talk is one thing, truly believing another. So to the Sharks I say: “Don’t stop believing”, that is one of the most important parts of going into the final. As a Sharks supporter, I know you can win and will win, DO YOU?

…. and they can take the following message on board too…

On a tour of the Deben, the Pope took a couple of days off his itinerary to visit the north coast on an impromptu sightseeing trip.
His 4X4 Popemobile was driving along the golden sands when there was an enormous commotion heard just off the headland. They rushed to see what it was and upon approaching the scene the Pope noticed just outside the surf, referee Mark Lawrence struggling frantically to free himself from the jaws of a twenty-foot shark.
At that moment a speedboat containing John Plumtree, Keegan Daniel and Jean Deysel roared into view from around the point. Spontaneously, Keegan Daniel took aim and fired a harpoon into the shark’s ribs, immobilising it instantly.
The other two reached out and pulled Mark Lawrence from the water and then, using long clubs, beat the shark to death.
They bundled the bleeding, semi-conscious Lawrence into the speedboat along with the dead shark and then prepared for a hasty retreat, when they heard frantic shouting from the shore. It was of course the Pope, and he summoned them to the beach.
Upon them reaching the shore the Pope went into raptures about the rescue and said, “I give you my blessing for your brave actions. I had heard that there were some hooligan elements and vindictive people upset by the result of the match but, now I have seen with my own eyes this is not true. I can see that you are truly enlightened examples of cultural harmony and could serve as a model which other peoples could follow.”
He blessed them all and drove off in a cloud of dust.
As he departed, Plum asked the others, “Who was that?”
“That,” Deysel answered, “was his Holiness the Pope. He is in direct contact with God and has access to all God’s wisdom.”
“Well,” Keegan Daniel replied, “he knows nothing about shark hunting. How’s that bait holding up?”.

We had a wonderful Cabinet radio and Gramephone LP player…. fark would have made a nice ornament now. Radio still worked with valves, it was before the time of transistors and integrated circuits…. thing had to warm up a bit before playing…. hehehe

There was also (just forgot the name now) that came on around 7pm every night. We used to sit around the radio and listen to it every night. Truely brings back memories of my yougth that radio station.

Remember the kitchen in those days were where we (the family) all sat listening to the radio. Strange these days it is the tv room or patio where we all congregate too.
