Gelukkig het jy nie seergekry nie!

Agree, I would have started with Vermaak. Made no sense to start with Hougie in this game. Also taking off Chili and Potgieter was mind boggling.

    Ek stem

The worst for me Puma, is that they had 2, not 1, wake up calls.
Against your Sharks they really dodged the bull it, but there we could all see how their line outs fell apart when Chilli went off.
Then the Stormers really schooled them in all facets at Newlands.
Now surely if you get two matches like that and you have a week off to fix what went wrong, you should learn some lessons?

Anyway, waar is daai foto, by watter post?

    @ nortierd:
In think the Saders loss earlier also took a lot of the hype out of the Bulls, just one of those things, you prepare for one thing and then another permutation all of a sudden enters the equation, causing a different mindset.

    Agree 100%
Even I was let down by that result, because from a personal point of view I was hoping for a Bull v Crusaders final at Loftus.
Yesterday’s game was not a good game from either side, it was more a matter of each team trying not to lose, than actually playing to win ( barring the last 4 minutes when the Brumbies had to score )
The Chiefs match was so much better viewing, even the 1st half where there were no tries, was exciting to watch

    Howzit Piet,

Hope you well after that fall boet.

Look I feel the same, think the Chiefs winning and knowing that Bulls will not hold the final at Loftus next week and had now to travel to Hamilton must have been heavy on their minds. That is a horrendous journey, such a long long way to go. I feel their hearts were not in it any longer.

Go to post 342 to see that photo. Was brilliant….hahahaha.

Gbs, Put up a article about a split that might happen in Super Rugby with Oz and Nz going it on their own. Just read it on Rugby365.

I think it would not be good for our rugby if we were not playing those sides every year. The reason our rugby is so strong for all of us, is playing each other so much. Though if we have to add more teams then surely we need to have a 1st and 2nd division. As no way can we have more teams in the tourney. FAR too much rugby being played already. Also need to do away with the home and away derby games. WE get that in our CC and it is enough already.

    Just wondering….

  • 376

Finally get a chance to express disappointment on the result, going through some comments it seems it was a game we should have won 🙁

  • 377

Hello Gbs interesting to read your comments about the press conference, one wouldn’t expect a manager to publicly bad mouth a fellow employee/underling so as frustrating as it was for you I guess the answers about the props were predictable, on the other hand about the kicks Mr Ludeke you say wanted them to go for posts pretty much like the fans but says decision to not take them was made by… two players who are leaving the Bulls so no worries for him there to mention them by name

  • 378

    My two cents worth…

The bulls coach lost the game for the bulls not the bulls captain.

The bulls were strong with ball in hand and kept the brumbies in their half and rejecting the penalty kick kept the pressure on the brumbies. Then the coach forced the penalty kick conversion which allowed the brumbies to restart for territory. The bulls captain knew two things were not in his favour…the scrum and the rucks. And these are crictical when playing in your own territory.
Kicking for the penalty now put the pressure on the bulls and they buckled.

I firmly believe that the bulls would have won if they did not go for the penalty conversion.

  • 379

    @ Wallabie.:
Maybe maybe not. The fact is you take those points and play on. Bulls were great in minutes 68-78, if they believed in themself they could have played another stint like that if they fell behind. So many things could have happened. But one thing is a certainty, a SA Ref will not blow the 50/50 decisions like the norm, for the Home team in SA.
lets face it like someone said Steve Walsh would never blow a penalty against the Chiefs in those last minutes in Hamilton. And it panned out like that.

But like i said enough since the final whistle CONGRATS Brumbies. You made me saw the most un-Bulls like 10 minutes in my whole life. I am still puzzled.

342: nortier, dankie vir daai foto, het nou so lekker en hard hier gelag die mense om my kon nie glo ek lag so terwyl my span so sleg gechoke het nie.

Hier is hoe die Bulle se nuwe “back to the drawingboard” in hul kleedkamer van nou af gaan lyk:

So dit was ‘n kombinasie van foute = choke.

    378 @ Wallabie.:
Howzit Walla, Congrats on your Brumbies and all the best to them in the final.

Look I read exactly what you said there from a poster on The Roar. The captain can defend himself by that, as after the restart that did happen, the Brumbies scored a try. However, I feel the Bulls were right on top of the Brumbies around the 68th min when they got the first penalty of the three they never took. The 68th penalty they should have taken without question and the 70th. If Brumbies scored after they had enough time to get back. We will never know if Bulls took all the other penalties if Brumbies would have scored from the restart there. I don’t believe they would have after every penalty as they never earlier on. Dewald should have taken the penalties, Morne would have gotten them all over and it would have put pressure on the Brumbies. So I don’t agree with you mate or that poster on the Roar. You have to take penalties when on offer. Especially when there is 12min left to play.

Bulls to me looked in the first half not interested, something was a miss there for sure. Just looked to me they never wanted it as much as the Brumbies. Think the Chiefs winning in the morning and knowing they would have to fly to Hamilton took something out of it for them. They were the rested team and yet in the first half you would have sworn it was the Brumbies that had rested the week before, instead of the short turnaround and the travel. Bulls just went walkabout in that first half and only come the 2nd half they played better. Also why the hell did their coach take off the players that were actually making it tough for Brumbies at a crucial time? Why take off Chili and Potgieter? Just did not make sense at all. Will never understand that.

Anyhow again good luck to your Brumbies. Jake has done brilliant with them. I am sure you have changed your mind about Jake as a coach now. You lucky to have him. Your gain and a huge damn loss for us in SA losing him to a Oz team.

    Howzit BDB,

Walla is a Aussie don’t think he will understand Afrikaans boet.

  • 383

The Bulls played below their standards
The coach made (in my opinion) some questionable front row decisions, they got (correctly or not) smashed in the front row for the first half
Morne missed kicks you would expect him to make
    Dewald’s decision making proved costly

AND YET they were 5 minutes away from a Super Rugby final.

Well played on a good season. On another day…..

  • 384

    383 @ Stormersboy:
Howzit bro, how you doing? Are you now living up in Jozi?

You would think after the Bulls were outscrummed by the Sharks and Stormers the Coach would have known to not start with Greyling? (sp) He was shown up there already. They knew it and should have had him on the bench.

Morne missed two I think at the start then he was slotting them after that. The first two penalties that were turned down were very easy, Morne would most definitely have gotten them. Also Bulls were no where in the first half. Not sure what to make of it and taking players off at crucial times that is actually make it very tough for the Brumbies. Mind boggles that he took off Chili and Potgieter. Will never understand that.

  • 385

  • 386

This not the time for me to hit low blows at the Bulls supporters, it would be very bad sportsmanship

Sorry it had to end this way friends, the merits have been discussed enough.
Hope it can be learned from is all we can say

Regroup, refresh and see you in the Curry Cup.

    Be strong

  • 387

    385 @ ben-die-bul:
There must be a balance between the youngsters and the hardened older campaigners.

It may well be that the Bulls have go it wrong. Who can afford to or want to take a 50% salary cut?

Having said that, if your team is successful, your players are going to be targeted by the rich overseas clubs, so the mixture of a possible salary cut at home, or a couple of years overseas earning buckets full of money is a potentially disasterous cocktail for a union like the Bulls.

PS. Can Callie Visagie now come back to Ellis Park for the game on Saterday?

  • 388

Dis steeds jou span, jou eer, jou passie…

Hey Boet lekker here thanks and you??

Ja Greyling is no Mellet. Don’t understand why they prefer him.

    Suits us I guess.
