In recent weeks I said my bit about referees. I came across this video made by an Australian no-less which I think makes for some fascinating viewing.
The Boks and how they play is one issue, the refereeing is a completely different issue.
No words necessary to explain this.

The ongoing Tri-Nations refereeing saga took another intriguing twist when the International Rugby Board’s head of refereeing, New Zealander Paddy O’Brien, revealed that was considering legal action against former Wallabies coach Bob Dwyer.
New Zealand’s 3 News reports that the threat from O’Brien to go the legal route came after Dwyer accused O’Brien of bias toward the All Blacks.
Dwyer said O’Brien raised concerns with the performance of his match officials only if it favoured New Zealand – like he did after the All Blacks scrum was hammered by Italy in Milan last year.
The former Wallaby coach, Dwyer, also called the All Blacks “the biggest cheats in world rugby” earlier this week.
O’Brien now wants a public apology from Dwyer.

is it possible one could create a video (similar to the one above) of the Bulls/Saders game at Loftus, whereby the SA ref missed many a ruling in favour of the bulls? many NZ fans were told to get over it..
could one do the same and concentrate on french illegalities in the 1/4 of 07? again, NZ fans were told to get over it..
I guess this sets the precedent though, I now expect to see a video on the internet after EVERY test match, highlighting the winning teams illegalities..

You do have a point there buddy. Something has to be done about bad reffing in total though.

I agree about the standard of reffing and that something needs to be done about it.
Id suggest a referee school for international quality refs, where they visit every 6 months or so and are assessed in all facets, fitness, knowledge of law, application of laws etc.. would at least go some way to giving consistency across the board..
@ nga puhi:161 – Howzit my friend. So pleased you over here to blog with us a bit. Don’t worry about that video, you are right if every game had a video we would be picking up that sort of thing. What we need is the best refs and maybe going up to the tmo more often. See you on the AB/Oz thread.
