thebulls.co.za has announced that Jaco van der Westhuyzen is on his way back to Pretoria after signing a contract with the Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd on Tuesday afternoon.
Van der Westhuyzen, 31, signed a three year deal with his beloved Bulls and will join his former teammates early in January 2010.

The former Springbok has been playing for NEC in Japan for the last six years, but he is extremely excited to reunite with his family and friends at Loftus Versfeld and he is determined to make a huge contribution on his return.

“The Bulls will always have a very special place in my heart.

“I am very eager to play for them and everything I do and want to do is centered around the Bulls.

“It was a very easy decision to make and I am very excited to join up with the team.”

Coach Frans Ludeke was visibly excited about Van der Westhuyzen’s signing and said the player’s willingness to return is a huge compliment for the structures that are in place at Loftus.

“Jaco is a senior player and his experience and versatility will add great value to the team.

“He is able to play fullback, flyhalf and wing and we know that he has what it takes to be a huge asset for us on and off the field.”

In other news Lions hooker, Hans van Dyk has been cleared of any foul play. Western Province complained that Hans van Dyk was quilty of biting flanker Francois Louw.

Judicial Officer Advocate Jannie Lubbe viewed all the available video recordings and determined that the evidence did not warrant a citing.

As a result, the JO dismissed the citing.

I’m glad Wacko Jacko is back! Kirchner has been struggling in the CC.
About Hans – I see he was cleared of everything, what was all the complaining about then from WP? AC said there was “clear evidence” of Hans biting Flo?

    Naand Supa !

Naand Ben my Bul vriend. Wat dink jy van Jaco? Ek is nogal bly. Ons kort nog n heelagter. Hy moet net nie loskakel speel nie.

  • 4

  • 5

O donder nie weer Jaco nie… Hy moes in Japan gebly het.

  • 6

  • 8

I will repeat what I said elsewhere.

I think this guy is/was a misunderstood, badly coached rugby genius much in the mould of Gaffie du Toit.

He is an asset to any team.

Is jy n WP ondersteuner? n eerlike antwoord asb.

  • 13

8@Morne – Ruan Pienaar, Brent Russell, Stefan Terreblanche, Frans Steyn, etc. Those are badly coached rugby geniuses in my opinion.

    Ek is Super.

    Eerlik ek is.

Ek laaik julle bulle fokol! 😉

  • 15

    #13

    Yeah, agreed.

  • 16

  • 18

#13 is al daai ouens se rugby nie opgeneuk daar in Durbs nie ?

  • 19

    VanStraaten – 13

Spot on. All three Frans, Ruan and Brent were messed about a lot though. Pity huge talent all of them.

  • 20

just for the record for tose that dont know , is that the du plessis brothers have put pen to paper and extended their contrat with the sharks for another 2 years

  • 22

    Sharky – 21

Yes, I read that too. Very pleased about it.

  • 23

#21 wat van Ludik en Alberts ?

  • 24

    # 23 will know within the next 2 days

  • 25

    Sharky – 21

Wish we got Frans Steyn to do just that too. Sharks going to miss him big time in the S14 next year.

See we have a rubbish draw too. Play Chiefs frist up at the Tank in Feb when it is very humid that time of year. Then Cheetahs then off to NZ to play Saders then off to OZ to play two games then back to NZ to play another two games. Damn why back and forward like that. Once in a country why not play all your games there then move on to the next country. All that back and forward must cost money too and that is what makes the travel so much worse for the Saffa players.

  • 26

frist meant first – post 25

  • 27

yup puma mate , i told so many people losing frans would come back to bite us in the ass

hell even i didnt realise how bad that bite would be

  • 28

#26 dont worry we understand typonese lol

  • 29

27 – Sharky, yip I too said we would miss Frans. He has left a huge gap at the Sharks and also in the Bok squad.

    28 – LOL.
