Not only has Bryan Habana signed to play for WP, but it gets more interesting… there is a Tail to this story.
I received the following SMS Text message last night, from my cousin, a well known South African actress, married to SA’s leading Musical Producer and Director and TV series Producer (PS! what was written about the 2 of them in Sondag yesterday is untrue).
“Hey! I’m over the moon! Spent the last 2 hours talking to Bryan Habana!! Ek’s SUPER star struck!”
Knowing that she knows my deep interest in all things rugby, I could not resist phoning her, so I did just that.
It turns out that they were having dinner at a restaurant near Zoo Lake yesterday, and who else was there… Bryan and Jenine.
They all got talking and low and behold, Bryan Habana announced that he had not only signed with WP but also he had formally requested Jenine’s hand in marriage… and she accepted.
Bryan and Jenine will be moving to Cape Town in November.
I guess that congratulations are in order!
We wish Bryan and Jenine well with their future together and we also wish Habanananana a prosperous rugby adventure at WP.
Bryan, may you score many tries for WP, except against the Bulls, and may you continue to wear No 11 for the Bokke with much success.
… and so the cycle of life continues…
@Treehugger – Well i hope so, hope he does not tell them all our secrets too. No lets face it he is a big loss. But i hope FdP never leaves us for another province or Morne or WO, all 3 would be major losses.

@superBul – I am a sharkgirl through and through but enjoy the Bulls style of rugby and dont think South Africa will find another Bakkies for a long time. Am multitasking so back in a while.
The reality is that the first season after getting married is always difficult for a lot of professional sportsman.
There is a new focus in his life.
Add to that the attractions of Slaapstad, the circus that is WP and you have some interesting challenges for Habana.
I wish him well, but it is going to be a big adjustment.

Well Treehugger it goes like this:
Tight forwards are a front row in numbers 1,2 and 3, and their job is to scrum.
As a result of their hard work they do not get to attract very pretty girlfriends.
The numbers 4 and 5 are locks who scrum and jump in the line out, and their girl friends are just as ugly as those of the front row.
Then you get the loose forwards, who are in between tight forwards and those good looking guys in the backline.
Loose forwards pretend to scrum, sometimes jump in the line out and try to get to the ball and win it for their pretty backline players to look good with.
As a result of the loose forwards hard work, they are rewarded with girlfriends who look a lot better than those of the tight forwards, but not as pretty as the wingers girlfriends.
