Andrew Hore

Andrew Hore

OK, a special for the Ex-Voldy bloggers… we will keep this Hore Thread ALIVE for a while.. so go ahead, get your records!!

Former All Blacks hooker Andrew Hore has answered an S.O.S. to come out of retirement and provide injury cover for Southland.

The loss of veteran hooker Jason Rutledge has left the Stags with problems in the middle of their front row.

That saw skipper Jamie Mackintosh put a call in to his mate Hore to twist his arm to help out in Invercargill.

Rugby Heaven

And it seems to have worked. The Stags have confirmed Hore is training with their squad, but will only get involved in match play if one of their two remaining hookers gets injured.

Hore retired from top rugby last year after 83 tests for the All Blacks, though he has played matches for the British Barbarians and a World XV this year against international sides.

Hore’s previous NPC play has been with Taranaki and Otago.

The Stags have gotten off to a good start in this year’s NPC, with wins over Bay of Plenty and North Harbour.

They host neighbours Otago on Saturday.

    The Roll Of Honour;
    Post 1………..Gummy.

Province should have made an earnest attempt to sign this guy. He can mentor the youngsters coming through, like Scarra, Tyson and Coetzee. Lots of experience plus he is rock solid in the scrums and line-outs.

Indeed Cane! We must now try and break the record held by that other site… 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000

We will be HOREnred to win the titles and PRIZES that go with it… 😉

Good idea, and while in Cape Town, he can on the sidelines also act as consultant to the local fishing community who is experiencing problems with seals. I believe he has good experience in the intricacies of ‘culling” although his methods might not always carry the stamp of approval of the Sea Shepherds and other conservation groups.

This Hore is a versatile hore and there is much more to him than only being a hooker.

    @ robzim:
Yes indeed. Plus there are all those struggling micro breweries that he can assist by increasing their turnover 10-fold…

  • 15

    @ Stormersboy:
He he, don’t count on it….you forget, I now possess the magic of editing and deleting posts 😀
You might find that all those “landmark” posts might just somehow “magically” disappear only to be replaced by mine (or offers to the highest bidders)
    Wink

Yep TR, the worst example of lurking ever in the history of lurkers.
That last 000 post he stole was earmarked for Atlas, poor Atlas almost single handedly kept the thread going, only for some Lone Dove to swoop in and shit all over the parade.
Caner was arbitrator and I do think he ruled in favor of Atlas, but the post stood.
I think myself and Charles were stuck on 3 different 000’s, but someone else had 4 if I remember correctly.

    Yep…Chalet I think..

There was a thread about Andrew Hore on Voldy than ran to almost 30 000 responses. It became amonster with a life of it’s own with bragging rights on who posted at certain milestones like the 1000th post etc.

    I got the 10 000, just saying 😉

This one reminds us all of that thread, and i wouldn’t be surprised if there was a certain element of similarity on this one, just for old times’ sake 😉

    @ Stormersboy:
    Hence the title I gave it…. 😆
CharlesM and myself bagged 3, but I can’t remember who got 4 different thousands, c’mon Caner, help us out, you did the roll of honor

GBS, because there was hardly any updates of new articles for weeks on end at that stage, we kept ourselves busy on the Hore thread, ran right through many months.
Then Atlas revived it with his late night soliloquies 😆
Pity no one printed the whole thread out, there was some conversations there 🙄
Then, poof, all gone just like that. Would have made quite a book.
When a post neared a 000 landmark it was like a feeding frenzy as everyone scrambled to grab the prize.
The one thing that stands out is even though it was a record thread of note, Keo did not once post there, not even as a thank you for the guys who kept the site going while he disappeared. All new news we posted there as well.

Yeah a real slap in the face to the guys who actually made his site. He’d checked out emotionally months before……

Was a hell of a lot of fun though 😆
Really a pity it can’t be sourced, would love to have a chance to go through the posts again, if in book form it would probably make War and Piece look like a comic in size

    Haha yes it would.

Was a blast as you say.

    Interesting…

So you chaps carried on, on one dead / defunct thread… kept yourselves going with news for months?

Fokkit, was worse towards the end at Voldy than I thought or was made aware of here on R-T!

Yeah I had basically stopped going there, told everyone where they can find me, glad to see some did!
