New Zealand Haka

New Zealand Haka

The Haka has been a contentious issue of late, and here, courtesy of Fox Sports, we bring you the top 5 responses to the challenge.

Personally, I feel that the IRB has erred in placing so many restrictions on the opposition sides regarding their response, all it means is that they must meekly stand X amount of yards away without being allowed to properly take up the challenge.

Come on IRB, grow a pair and allow the opposition to give as good as they get. It’s not as if it has an averse effect on the men in black, they still win most of the games.

I’m sure that the All Blacks would have no objection to their opposition giving a bit back.

Love it or hate it, it’s unthinkable to watch an All Black Test without the Haka, and personally, I’m a fan.

Shame about Sir Cliff Richard…. Police raid on his home yesterday!!

Hope the allegations are untrue…but ‘Smoke and Fire’come to mind Worry

I have seen The Haka preformed many times, but the best was when the Welsh Boyos stood right up to the Kiwis, goading them slightly.

It was not disrespectful, it was great theatre and the Welsh cheers nearly blew the stadium roof off!!

Of course The All Blacks won !!

Morning bird. But that stuff went on allegedly 50 years ago…something fishy here…
Btw, do yourself a favour, check out the Cliff and Shadows Reunited album.

Robzim told me that the Cliff song 40 Days was big back in SA in the 70’s. We had never come across that one over the sea here on Mud Island!!

Just Summer Holiday and Bachelor Boy !! đŸ™‚

    @ Blue Bird:
40 Days was huge because of the conscription.

Later, a local artist named Gene Rockwell also did a version, and that became the choice version, I remember he even performed live at the Police College when we had our 40 days before pass out parade.

    49 @ Blue Bird:

It was great fun, but I was a bit worried about the lack of music post 1978 from some parts!!

Nostalgia is great but we over 25’s must look forward too!! Delighted

    @ Blue Bird:
40 days! Big big big hit…very popular in the military those days, when you received your 40 day discharge notice to bugger off after 2 years of waking up to the SM’s Joe Crocker version of ‘rise and shine”….
