    @ MacroBok:
“pollard already has made a big impact on super rugby…”

Hahaha…he played Super Rugby, yes. As far as the impact he made, I would not describe it as big. Pleasure

  • 692

    @ Nama:
well the bulls look a different team when he plays… to me thats a mssive impact 😀

  • 693

    @ MacroBok:
He is in the squad so I believe he’ll play. Look at the last name in the squad. Pondering

Pollard is a game breaker, lambie has lost that skill or only rarely shows it.

  • 695

    @ MacroBok:
Each to his own, I guess. Wink

  • 696

    @ Nama:
maar moenie dat jan en pollard jou so uit stress nie 🙂 hulle sal nog super rugby wen

  • 697

    @ MacroBok:
I’m not denying that Pollard can be all that and maybe more. All I’m saying is let him prove himself to be that before we hail him as the next great. Let him play CC this year and SR next year as 1st choice FH at the BB and Bulls and put in the performances.

Remember, at the start of the season your coach regarded J-L Potgieter as the 1st choice FH at the Bulls, not so?

  • 698

    @ MacroBok:
Het julle ‘n pak om hulle te help wen of gaan hulle dit agter ‘n verloor pak doen? Happy

  • 699

    @ Nama:
ons was laasjaar 5 minute van n finaal af met n verloor pak 😉

  • 700

    @ Nama:
he still has to prove himself without a doubt. At the bulls his first challenge is to be a 85% kicker.

But we does he need to be a legend before he is good enough to play Scotland?

  • 701

    697 @ Nama:
wrong. Our gracious leader selected Louis fouche to lead us lol

  • 702

when are players like Etzebeth, PSDT due back?

  • 703

eben could play the bulls I think

  • 704

but eben is definitely playing the tjarks

  • 705

cheers, interesting chat you and Nama had about Pollard..

  • 706

    @ nga puhi:
whats your thought… as the “enemy”? 🙂

  • 707

    @ MacroBok:
    OK, Fouche.

Hulle lyk en speel almal dieselfde in Pretoria. ‘n Man kan so ‘n fout maak. Wink

  • 708

For the Boks to compete in the RC, the Sharks must end in 3rd place overall and then lose in their play-off match. That will give the Dup sisters, Beast and Alberts about 3 week recuperating time while the NZ and Aus teams slog it out in the semi final and the final.

Other than that, we will have a torrid time in the RC.

Aus on the up. NZ their usual self.

  • 709

the problem with south africa. every two years a player comes along who will be the “next great” and its usuallly disappointing. we should not push players to early. people want the “complete” flyhalf because everything morne steyn does is not good enough.

pollard should not play if the squad flyhalves are fit and at a worst case scenario maybe play on the bench and should not play in the rc or even be in any squad.

but having him join up to the squad not it the right decision.

  • 710

    @ MacroBok:
lol… now, why would I enlighten an “enemy” 😀

I would let him spend another year or two at Super rugby first, with a view of using him for 2019. Some players can step straight up, Eben a good example, but it can damage a player too if its too soon, and its a fine line imo
Pollard still has so much to learn. I dont know for certain but I dont believe Cruden or Barrett were picked in their first year of super rugby while still playing U20s..

so you should not start him against Scotland, but you should for both the Wobs and ABs THIS year, Wink

  • 711

now, is the right decision* my typing is shit today

  • 712

    708 @ Nama:
You’ll make me wish and hope for that, as I do not owe the Sharks ANY allegiance anymore, in fact I agree that it would be much better if the No 6 side beat the Sharks in the one play-off too.

I do owe some of the Sharks Bokke, individually, allegiance, and would want them fresh for the Springboks!

Fark the Sharks, up the Bokke!

    @ nga puhi:
injury permittijg we have enough flyhalves to do the job now… but you know those injuries…

I will have none of that derision against the great Stephen Donald thank you very much. The man is a legend, and he cooks a mean batch of whitebait fritters Overjoy

  • 715

    @ nga puhi:
Agree 1 000%. Get him ready for AFTER RWC 2015…that is, if he makes it at senior level.

You guys are not going to fast track Tevita Li into the AB set up, are you? I mean, you are still waiting for Ardie Savea to come through after he was punted as the next big thing a couple of years ago. Cruden took about 3 years before he started to look settled at senior level and you still don’t get consistently good performances from him.

  • 716

    @ MacroBok:#709
And every two years or so when the “new messiah” arrives on the horizon, we do push the player despite the disappointments of the past. When do we learn?

Pollard a case in point again.

  • 717

    @ Nama:
Li has quite a few good players ahead of him..Jane, Savea, Piutau, Halai etc Malakai has risen quickly, but that’s because we are thin at 12/13 really. SBW coming back (has signed for counties I think) may help, imagine SBW feeding Fekitoa, 😯

Players mature in their own time, and are usually better for it imho let him hone his skills and get a rugby education first… though no objections to bringing him into the wider bok group. Let him get a feel for it and it may motivate him too. Definitely no test game time though.

  • 718

forgot to Add, Cruden is just getting back to match fitness after almost 2 months out with injury.. I think the 3rd test was his best game yet.. I think he’s only lost one game in about 30 in the Black jersey, so dont think he’s too inconsistent

  • 719

    @ nga puhi:
They team may have won ll those matches but I don’t think it was all down to Cruden’s performances.

  • 720

    @ nga puhi:
it is defitely easier in new zealand for player to mature as the rugby culture goes all the way to the all blacks.

in south africa there is a lot of pressure on the springboks to pull a game style out of their arse that none of our franchises play, so they could be excused to lure young raw players the mix that hasnt been part of the franchise structures too long.
