It is especially when yout team has been decimated by injuries, the flyhalf, the lock, the.. eh…

    Night-night, Nortie.

    @ kaksioek:
Great win by your tm over the weekend. Congrats.

Where does the Conference Cup rate in your esteemed opinion?

  • 425

    @ Nama:
Thanks – a rare BP for the Stormers too. The Conference Cup? Better than nothing I guess. But I do think it’s pretty silly to be honest. If I were you, I would be more proud of finishing top of the combined log.

  • 426

Anyhow, since I’ve frightened everyone off, I’m out too 😎

  • 427

    @ kaksioek:
I think it is our 2nd BP in four games. Obviously we only decided at this late stage to go for it. The reasons for that only AC will know.

You guys will have to be careful not to fall into the same trap under JW. All good and well not to worry about BP’s if you are winning but if you lose a few games, they come in handy. Just ask the Bulls. They have won just 1 more game than us but are 9 points ahead of us on the log.

  • 428

Any-one noticed how much more attacking Stormers Backline is without Jean?

  • 429

    @ Best:

The main difference is not jean but an attacking flyhalf who creates space for his backs… the fairly useless Peter Grant has for years denied his outside backs the opportunity to shine on attack with his pedestrian passing and general lack of vision

  • 430

    @ Best:
Difficult to say that it is because of JdV’s absence or whether it is because of a change in game plan. We scored tries with JdV in the team as well.

  • 431

    @ robzim:
Grant created a lovely try with that chip kick.

Personally i believe the difference is that there is no useless forwards standing in the backline to disrupt momentum by running straight in a player, like the (kitch)hoff, bekker, liebenberg… Now counter attacks are finally paying off.

  • 432

The tries will start drying up when those counter attacks dont come up like against the bulls at Loftus.

They can beat the Sharks, but it will take something special to beat a defensive team, will be too the Stormers benefit if its an open game, but count on the Sharks kicking it all day and keeping the Stormers pinned.

  • 433

    Stormers 1st try maul
2nd try bad kick Kolbe counter attack had cheetahs on the back foot with van wyk running through forwards
3rd try, counter from a bad pass to sadie in his own 22
4th try, try created by Popgun grant with a perfect chip kick behind.

Sharks need to limit mistakes and stormers will struggle to score

  • 434

Aplon is not there to throw away tries by trying to score himself every time, and JDJ is having his best season ever.

    Counter attacking players

    @ 431

it was his best kick of the last 4 years…. maybe it was the wind that forced the ball down 🙂

we have to see how it goes from here.. i believe the Stormers have a good team top go forward but they need a decent flyhalf and hooker if they really want to become contenders.

Its certainly not all gloom and doom though .. they have some great youngsters at the academy at the moment… Phillips, EW Viljoen, Schikerling etc…. and also Rob du Preez junior.

next year will be our year 🙂

  • 436

    @ robzim:
Groom irritated me at scrumtime when he indimidated Berry waving his arms around lol

But he had a fairly good game, what i saw yesterday, his kicking game was spot on.

With the hmmm fanfare phillips and viljoen come with, i was surprised they didn’t make the baby boks team.

hehe P.grant was actually attempting a cross kick to the wing 😉

  • 437

GBS really needs to try and add paragraph spacing 😉

  • 438

JdV tends to run into opposition too much keeping de Jongh in close rather than with space. No a Stormers fan but will back Kolbe and JdJ every time in one on one situation with bit of space, Heynecke’s got serious problem selecting inside centre. JdV, Serfontein, Steyn all putting up their hands. Wouldn’t mind Ebershon there either.

  • 439

    @ MacroBull:

Groome is improving quite nicely as he is lately getting decent gametime not having to play second fiddle to Schreuder most of the time.

Re the non selection of Viljoen and Phillips; all i can say is the players who were selected ahead of them at no 15 and 9 respectively must be pretty special.. i will keep an eye on them during the tournament.

    437 @ MacroBull:
If you are desperate for Paragraph Spacing, until I find time to code it into the Inner Part of the Comments… then use the following HTML Code in the picture below, by simply inserting it between paragraphs:

    Paragraph Break

Apart from finding the time for me to do the actual coding, to now code it in is not just wham bam, thank you mam… there is a rather large difference between CSS Coding and the HTML Coding I used in the picture. In CSS one works with line-height settings for the height of lines inside a specific paragraph, whilst one uses margin-top and margin-bottom codes to get to Paragraph Spacing.

It does not end there though, because every individual element which appears on a page, has it’s own settings in a Style Sheet… the Header, the Footer, the Pager, The Navigation, The Post Content, The Side-Bars, The Tables, The Pictures, Ordered and Unordered Lists, the Comment Form and of course The Comments…. to name just a few.

Each of these seperate elements, including The Comments then breaks down into their specific individual elements…. so the bottom line is there is a load of code to check, to solve where to fiddle to set the Paragaph Spacing right!

Here is a sample WITHOUT that code:
The 1st Paragraph. Whatever you write in the paragraph automatically goes over to a new line when space runs out on the page and the correct line spacing follows in those lines as they appear on the page, but when we go to the 2nd paragraph just now you will see it looks like just another line of text and part of the same paragraph. I think this is enough text to simulate a full paragraph now.

    The 2nd Paragraph.

    The 3rd Paragraph.

    Ok laaste keer

Here’s another solution using CSS, if you just want blank space:

    .sp { margin-top : 120px; }

and in the paragraph *after* the space:

….. to here. What is the right html code …..

Alternatively, you could use margin-bottom property of the previous paragraph.

This method becomes really useful when you want more than one space, and you want to adjust it, making only one change
