    7 victories + 4/5 BP’s, yes.

  • 334

    @ Nama:
    hmmm good luck but you are aware you have already played the Lions twice?

  • 335

    @ MacroBull:

    Ja, it just means that we have to beat the Bulls and the Sharks home and away. 😆

    Yes, but we still get to play the Pretoria Melk Kooie twice.
    Easy peasy 10 log points.
    And the Guppies and Cheetahs, another 20 points in the bank.
    Then we need 2 losing bonus point games against the Highlanders and Force and Bob’s your uncle, mission accomplished

    Quite a good sporting long weekend.

    Liverpool FC won….. Chelsea lost… so Liverpool is now 3 games away from the Premiership title..and that is massive in THE major sport.

    Stormers also won…. they are not even close to any title but at least they have won…the tide has turned for them … good times ahead 🙂

    For the rest I do not care

    Lol, nooit weer nie.
    Last year was bad enough. Can’t see them slotting another 84th minute penalty from the sidelines in Bloem.

    And Miller smacked the Royals around tonight.
    I listened to Gummi and backed them this time round

    @ nortierd:

    Unfortunately I missed the knock of Millar… glad u and Gummi backed the right team though..as long suffering Stormer fans we need some luck ..

    The times they are ( hopefully for the Stormers) a changin 🙂

    @Robzim
    Lots still to happen between now and the final round.
    Lions have a tough tour with players who have never toured NZ and Aus in SR, so they will get more losses than wins, we can still pass them on the log.
    Sharks will run into tougher times going ahead, they will make up the bulk of the Bok team and Jake is not really resting some key players, so they can at some stage expect to lose more players to injury, either during or after the tests.
    If they lose Steyn, the already lose the source of the majority of their points.
    They will still end top of the conference, but if somehow they end 3rd overall, they can kiss any hope of winning the tournament goodbye.
    Bulls got hit hard when they lost Steggies and Pottie, it’s costing them big time.
    Who knows, Stormers might even finish above them on the log at the end of the season.
    I still stand by my prediction before the tournament started that the Sharks will be the only SA side in the playoffs, but they won’t win the SR.

    JF is old, he ‘s younger then us though 😉
    Saw him 1st time playing in Sept 2001 at Ellis Park, can you reckon when that was? 😉

    @ Nama:
    @320
    Honestly he isn’t for a Test duties, too small, he will get hurt
    If he isn’t a damaged good already?

    @ nortierd:

    Yip, I agree… second place in the conference will be a dog fight between the Bulls and Stormers but I doubt very much whether either will make the play offs.

    I reckon the Chiefs or Saders will win the whole thing… Sharks will not make it.. the moment they go overseas and are no longer under the management ( protection) of Saffer refs their wheels will come off… jake’s game plan is outdated and will not win him a championship… and for rugby’s sake i hope not.

    Aussies and England will be the dark horses for the world cup next year… NZ still the favourites though..

    It’s been a long time… cannot think of anyone who deserves it more than Gerrard…game against Chelsea will most likely decides it.. Their defence makes we nervous but unlike the Stormers they are devastating on attack.. AC can learn a lot from brendon rogers about how to turn it around….

  • 349

    @ robzim:
    Yip, the nice thing is Chelsea lost and City drew, so there is a bit of wriggle room at the top.

    Still need to keep their eye on the prize, no reason we can’t beat Chelsea.

    Stevie G is a class act, deserves a medal.

    As you say.

    @ robzim:
    One victory will do it,
    24 years gone by since Rush, Barnes, Beardsley, McMahon, Molby, Ray Houhton, Whelan and Rosenthal scored at will in 1990, long time!
    the current team is by no means at the same level of the last champions (16 internationals) but the Opposition isn’t that great either

  • 351

    @ Stormersboy:

    Anything can still happen but somehow I do not think they are going to throw it away now … i just love the way Rogers has backed the youngsters and how they have stepped up to it…and also how he managed to get the best out of the controversial best ( Suarez)

  • 352

    @ robzim:
    @347
    You got it Rob!
    😉

  • 353

    @ Hondo:

    Yip, except for Suarez and Gerrard they probably do not have the same individual brilliance as the last champions, but as a team they are certainly going great guns so lets hope it continues. Should they win the Championship I am sure the American owners will be more than willing to buy the necessary reinforcements

  • 354

    @Hondo 344
    Monnas or Craven Week?
    @Robzim 347
    England will probably be written up as one of the pre tournament favorites seeing they are the hosts and their press loves they hype Wink
    I’m also thinking Aus as a real dark horse. They have some good players at the moment and it almost seems as if everybody is putting up their hands at the same time.
    With us it’s the opposite. Our top players are showing HM why he shouldn’t pick them. Duanne has done nothing this year, Kanko by far the best nr 8 so far. No flyhalf showing intent, so Morne a sure pick. Beast is standing out. If HM is true to his word that he believes in discipline, then Jannie is on thin ice. His all round game is mediocre as usual, but his on field behavior towards the refs shouldn’t be tolerated if HM is true to his word. No real locks that stand out and can come close to Whitelock or Retallic, loose forwards are ok, especially when Flo is back.
    No nr 9 putting up their hand either and only Willie playing his usual game where he might make things happen with better players around him. Steyn is doing ok, but only for long range penalties, not in general play, the Sharks backline don’t offer much except on individual brilliance on turnover every now and again.
    We are seriously lagging in the backline, but our forwards should keep us in most games

  • 355

    @ nortierd:

    I really cannot see us winning it… we will be contenders but we just do not have the class to win it imo… HM will probably go with a number of players who are past their best like Victor M, F.du preez, Schalk, jean, morne, jac Fourie etc..

    We lost a golden opportunity in 2011 when these players were all at their peak…. and bryce was not the only to blame …

  • 356

    @Rob
    Stranger things have happened.
    In 2011 we were silly to sneak that win against Wales, after Aus lost to the Irish the whole shape of the “high road” “low road” playoff route changed.
    In 2015 topping the pool will mean we face the AB’s if we want to make the final, something they must think about and maybe look at the alternative route?

  • 357

    @ nortierd:

    @ robzim:

    “Stranger things have happened.”

    A very profound statement Norty.

    I always remember the commitment and resolve the late and great Kitch Christie gave – if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best, no matter which order in which they come at you. That’s it. Kitch got an ambulance job. Heyneke has time to prepare.
    2015 is all about the ticker, not about the talent. Period.

  • 358

    I hope we don’t make the same mistake and take a bunch of pensioners to the world cup…

    Anyone apart from Norty watching the IPL? How have the two KXIP chases been… the Maxwell/Miller show… I haven’t seen such precise hitting for sometime now…

  • 359

    @Gummi
    Your chommie can be very lucky I backed them last night
    Overjoy
    Top of my pools again, in the one pool I was the only person who backed them.
    Miller klapped them big time.
    Only Morkel dropped me the other night, but how good was JP?
    He picked his over and took Morne apart

    What a great match… the power hitting was just fantastic. Yeah JP doing well too… It is about time they take this form into International matches though… Just continue backing them… Morkel is too inconsistent at the moment… If he loses it, he loses it big time… We still haven’t seen Quinton yet… I hope he gets some game time…
