Is former All Blacks prop Kees Meeuws heading for Port Elizabeth to end his rugby career with the Eastern Province Kings?

Sport24

This was one of the rumours flying around on Saturday after Cheeky Watson, president of the EP Rugby Union, said another four top players from abroad could this week be signing contracts with the union.

“Some of these players were just waiting to see what happened in the EP election,” said Watson.

As was expected, the status quo has been maintained in the EPRU, with Watson unopposed in his re-election as president.

Apart from Meeuws, the names of Faan Rautenbach and Wessel Roux, have also been mentioned.

The Kings are also eyeing scrumhalf Falie Oelschig. Another scrumhalf whose name has been mentioned, is that of former Bok Michael Claassens from Bath.
