The Sharks have made very few changes to their team to face Western Province this coming Saturday evening in Durban.

All 3 injury concerns in Alberts, Ludick and Kankowski have come through the without hiccups,  Also back from injury is Wiehahn Herbst thus giving Plumtree a full squad to choose from.

In the back line their is only one change from last week with Mcleod returning to the starting lineup and Cockott reverting back to the bench, front row changes sees Beast starting with Bismark and Herbst, In the 2nd row Sykes returns to partner Hargreaves with Skeate as cover on the bench.

Plumtree had tough calls to make in the loose trio as all the players  here are showing great form, but in the end he went with a combination of Kankowski,  Alberts and Daniel with Botes on the bench as cover.

The Sharks team is as follows:

15 Louis Ludick, 14 Odwa Ndugane, 13  Stefan Terblanche ( CAPT), 12 Andries Strauss, 11 Lwazi Mvovo, 10 Patrick Lambie, 09 Charl Mcleod, 08 Ryan Kankowski, 07 Willem Alberts, 06 Keegan Daniel, 05 Allistair Hargreaves, 04 Steven Sykes, 03 Wiehahn Hersbt, 02 Bismark DuPlessis, 01 Tendai Beast Mtawarira.

Reserves: 16 Craig Burden, 17 Eugene Van Staden, 18 Ross Skeate, 19 Jacques Botes, 20 Rory Cockott, Monty Dumond, Riaan Swannepoel.

Now that is a good team

i hope the WP under estimates the sharks like their supporters are doing 😉

eish die plek is mors dood

maar elders gaan stront praat , waar daar lewe is

  • 4

With Alberts and Kanko there we should smash them by 8-10 points…

ek het n interresante foto in die volksblad gesien vandag mapoe oefen steets onwettig by die thieves ek glo hulle gaan ‘n vettirige boete by saru kry as hulle aan hou en dalk nog liga punte verloor

The Sharks team looks very strong. That team could play the AB and win! I would even fancy the present WP team on their day beating the Springboks.
Sat is going to be a cracker for rugby!

s,allies , the sharks are not holding him back , mapoe is refusing thats now between him and the FS

as for docking points , they cannot as he is not playing in matches

only once he plays in a match ilegaly can points be deducted

  • 8

Fact is, the Sharks are also not telling him what the right thing is yo do, since he clearly does’nt know right from wrong…

Maybe their ethos are rubbing off on him…

  • 9

    They are spineless…

    @ sharky_forever:

    @ sharky_forever:

As julle senters so kan “side step” in die Currie Beker seisoen wen julle die toernooi loshande !!!

  • 13

the point here is that the Sharks should not allow Mapoe to train with them. By allowing him to do so they are encouraging him show the Cheetahs the middle finger.

Had the Sharks not have approached a player with a legally binding contract, this would never have happened.

That foto is old, it is not a recent foto, so to all Shark haters, try a new angle.

    @ Blouste:

Yeah, us at the Sharks ar every unethical but you guys had a player that admitted to taking cocaine and he carried on playing for the Bulls and that was quietly swept under the carpet. But as Sharky says stay on your high horse at the Mighty Bulls, you can do no wrong..

  • 17

Excellent team to take on the Province boys, should pull this one through with home ground advantage!!!!

Winston, do not be fooled, there is a whole league of rugby professionals doing the cocaine bit, throughout the entire country………..

    13 @ Loosehead

    Exactly !!!

    16 @ Winston

This is not by all means an issue about nobody ever making any mistakes…
P3 admitted to have done wrong in the past BUT also to have rectified the mistake. So yes I think every person should be allowed to have a second chance.
This however is not remotely the same situation but if you want to draw a comparison it would’ve been like P3 saying to the Bulls…” listen, I’m using this stuff and I’m not planning on stopping”
If that was the scenario and the Bulls said…” aag thats ok, you can still play..” then it would be more in line with what the Sharks and Mapoe are currently doing.
Very unprofessional and spineless in my opinion. Mapoe is still a youngster ( not a very clever one it seems ) but one would expect the Sharks to tell him and show him what the right thing is to do. Unfortunatly it seems they dont know either… 😯

    @ Blouste:

Fair point raised Blouste but I am tired of the Sharks being attacked on this site (And not in a joking way). My argument is just that nobody is holding a gun to Mapoe’s head and is telling him to stay at the Sharks.

  • 20

    Winston.

They are not holding a gun against his head – sure.

But dont you think in the light of everything THEY should ask him to leave and not attend and participate in their training sessions.

Look I know this was not necesarilly your or anybody on this site’s decision.
But trying to defend the Sharks on this matter is ludicrous…

    Joost – Nuf said
    P3 – Snuif
    Danville – PTA

    He he
