Bulls lock Victor Matfield has been found ‘not guilty’ on a foul play charge. He is free to play against the Waratahs on in a Super 14 Round Three match on Saturday.
Matfield appeared before a SANZAR judicial committee on Monday, after being cited for foul play following his team’s impressive 50-32 Super 14 win over the Brumbies in Pretoria at the weekend.
Matfield was cited under Law 10.4 (a) for striking Brumbies flank Rocky Elsom around the head area in the 16th minute of the match.
The Bulls lock was also cited under Law 10.4 (k) for charging into a ruck without binding onto another player.
He was cleared on both charges at the hearing at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

7 – Super, Just felt Victor would get off. If you look at that again. Just like you said (I looked at it over and over) Elsom had his Elbow tight on Stegmanns neck and he could have killed him cause he was laying underneath trapped. Victor done the right thing, the ref was asleep and should have given Elsom a red card for that. Victor saved his mate from what could have been a very serious incident. I just had a good feeling he would get off after looking at it again.
Now see Bulls really giving it to those Tahs. Another 5 points coming up. Bulls defence must be good though. Tahs were all over Stormers in the last 20min and Stormers defence was superb to keep em from going over for a try.
Go Bulls. See Spies and Danie are fine too.
Puma i said in both games live that the Tahs play very well in the last quarter. We better get some daylight between us and them. I have many bad memories of the Waratahs when they play the Bulls.

9 – Super, If Bulls score first with a try think that will put far too much pressure on the Tahs. They coming from a very tough game they had against the Stormers to a altitude game against the Bulls. Bulls will take em easy. Just don’t allow them 5 points. That could come back at Bulls or Stormers in the end of the tourney. I somehow can not see Tahs getting 5 points against the Bulls just need to up your defence. That is the only very small and I mean actually tiny, tiny weakness I see in Bulls. They will stort it out quick. Bulls will get the 5 points this week I have no doubt.
This time wont be safe with my bru picks with Bulls going by at least 15 for bulls to win.
