The Stormers took on the Sharks tonight in Cape Town in a warm-up game in preparation for the Super 14, which starts in 2 short weeks. This is the match thread for discussion of the game.

The Stormers continued to impress, as they did in the match against the Western Force last Saturday and won handsomely, 29 / 14.
On the other hand, the Sharks once again looked a shadow of the Team we know they can be, with the backline in particular stuttering badly.
The game was marred by a high penalty count and no less than 3 Yellow Cards were issued. It seems that this year the breakdown point is going to be a real source of concern, so too the scrums which had to be reset time and again. Quite a number of penalties were also issued for high or dangerous tackles… for that, the players can only blame themselves, not the rules or the referee.

Just hope they sort out the best starting 15 for the Chiefs game tonight. Don’t care really if we win this but rather that we know who our best side is. Hope to see Meyer playing. Pity Ruan is not over that op yet either. Would have been good for him to get some playing time here.
