The 5 New Zealand Super 14 squads have been announced.

The Crusaders have Dan Carter and Chris Jack back. They have also received the services of young All Black wing Zac Guildford who made his international debut on Saturday against Wales.

Neil Sorensen, general manager of professional rugby for the New Zealand Rugby Union, said the selection process was difficult because of the amount of talent available.

“The abundance of quality talent has made this a very challenging process,” he said.

“However, it is great that the franchises have worked solidly through this process in a deliberate and professional manner. It is always tough to leave out quality players but the reality is there are just so many good players out there.

“We are delighted with the even spread of this talent across the regions and anticipate strong performances in 2010 for all five squads.”

  • 35

    Maak die Bulle almal bokke!
Anyway, my insette vir die dag.

35: Middag Isi. Mooi liedjie daai, sien jy sing nou saam, mooi.

  • 37

30 – Snoek…hahaha. 😆 There has been a lot of it there today as usual.

33 – Piet, I hope no reds on Friday night. Don’t trust that Barnes he is such a useless ref. The whole team has to have discipline and give them nothing, no sin bin as that will cost us against a good French team.

For me mostly worried about the centre channel where Adi will be playing. Hope I am wrong. Adi just not the same player as last year but you never know, this could be the game he turns it on. Just Adi’s defence for me is not that great. With their monster 105kg centre. Phew!! Going to be tough there. Needed a big centre like Frans Steyn there for this game.

#33 Pietman, why are you always so fearful that the team you support is going to lose?

  • 40

Hehe, no man! I’m a current Western Promise supporter and I’ve managed to maintain a sense of optimism through it all. And to prove it I got married at age 49 on Christmas Day 2008, hehe!!

It must be something else with Pietman….

  • 42

It is never over until the fat lady sing.

  • 44

43: jy is reg, it ain’t over until MS … 😉

  • 45

    Jis ja!!

  • 46

Zero ses, sero ses, kom is assenblief….oor….

  • 47

Bokke gaan die naweek wen, daar is net 5 Bulle in die span!!

Wat my wel pla is daai moerse lot Sharks!!!

A 10. Daniel Carter 12. Daniel Bowden combination that’s going to rock! Stephen Brett, and Daniel Kirkpatrick at the Blues. Robbie Robinson for the Highlanders… Better sides than this year. A New Zealand side to win the Super 14, and the All Blacks to go unbeaten in 2010.

We play them twice in New Zealand next year. So it will be tough. Do hope we at least we win our home game and carry on from where we left of this year and just get another win in NZ. That would be 3 wins in 3 years in a row on their soil.

Think we have to try and get one win there for our confidence for WC. Remember we will face them in the semi.

I see the great pretender spinned another yarn.

About the national side there there is two things that I rate as positives.

The first one is MS. He really made a difference to the sides he played for.
The second one is PdV. He made mistakes, but he really puts an effort in to rectify it. That is why I will give the Boks a chance coming Friday.

We win everything this year and now we are all worried? I suppose we have lost some great players though. Frans Steyn, JdV, Spies and Juan.

In Juans place have no worries with Burger there good replacement and hard as rocks.

Zane not as good as Frans Steyn and that big boot of Fransie we going to miss. Zane though will be playing with a lot of the Bulls players so think he will be fine. Also playing with much better players than he done in the E. Boks and that last test against the Lions.

Hope Kanko has a good game. He can do it has proved so in the past but has been mostly a fringe player and does not have too much Bok games. Spies may be missed.

Adi just not a replacement for JdV. Then if he can play like last year then have no problems. He is a 13 though so going to be out of position at 12.

Not worried about our scrums. We beat everyone with this very front row. If that does not work out we have a full front row on the bench.

Just wish we had Deysel on the bench too.

Boks are hungry to win this test, when they like that they play very well.

    Boks by 8

53: Bly iemand is positief. Hoop die Bokke wen goed teen die Franse.

  • 55

I’m worried about Friday, to be quite frank!

All the Northern Hemisphere Countries pride themselves on their forward play.. their scrumming and their protection of the ball.

France is no different, the Bokke will have to be wide awake and ready for a forward rumble…

My worries lie in the front row (but at least these 3 are very used to each other), Kanko on No 8, Adi on No 12 and Zane at No 15. Most worried about Adi… Would have liked to have seen Deysel or Dewalt on the bech rather than that long turd, Andries Bekker.

Bokke have no excuse…. they better win!

  • 56
