The Sondag newspaper, today reported that ex-Bulls coach, Heyneke Meyer is currently the favourite to be appointed as the new Director of Coaching for the Lions in next season’s Super 14.
GLRU CEO, Manie Reyneke confirmed that Meyer approached the union and said he was interested in the position. Reyneke has received CV’s of local coaches as well as international coaches. The shortlist will be put together on Monday and Reyneke wants the announcement of the new coach to be done by Friday.
Current coach, Hans Coetzee, has not applied for the position.
