It took The Cheetahs more than 30 minutes to pass the Leopards who took a early 10 point lead. After the initial 10 – 0 lead the Leopards conceded 8 tries and 60 unanswered points before they scored the last try of the match.

During those first 30 minutes the Leopards was well and truly in the match. They could have moved further ahead if Jean Tiedt kicked accurately. He missed 3 penalties  in that time, two very easy kicks badly hooked.

After JL Potgieter scored 2 penalties to bring the Cheetahs back into the game he was injured when scoring a try under the posts. He was unable to continue in the match and was replaced by Louis Strydom. The kicking duties went to Tewis de Bruyn who converted  5 tries from all corners, only missing the last when JP Joubert started warming up.

Before half time Ashley Johnson scored a try  to take the halftime score to 20-10.

From a rolling maul 5 minutes into the 2nd half  Hendro Scholtz scored the Cheetahs 3 rd try and within 6 minutes they secured their bonus point when Frans Viljoen scored the 4th try. With the match suddenly opening up, tighthead prop WP Nel got in on the act after 57 minutes followed by centre Meyer Bosman, Jongi Nokwe and captain Nico Breedt as the Leopards faded away badly after a bright start.

With 3 minutes left on the clock the Leopards scored a consolation try to take their match tally to 17 points. For 30 minutes it looked like a even match and the scrum battle was not dominated by either team. Both teams won tight heads but at the end the more fancied Cheetahs ran over a team who lacked concentration and steely determination.

Sadly the Leopards  struggle to play for 80 minutes, this time they played only 35 minutes.

Ashley Johnson confirmed his great potential with another good game.  Mapoe and Juries did not show their skills and Mapoe was well covered by Bom Samaai.

    I say 260

    @superBul – 3

    Hello Super,

    England 190/6 after 38 overs. If they can hang on to their wickets. They could end up with 250. But thats a huge ask. Think some more wickets will go. Though these two have stayed in for quite awhile now.

    What you think Super?

  • 5

    If this 2 keeps going 280 is on

  • 6

    @superBul – 5

    Yes, agree. Just back from the tv and see they are now on 206 and going strong. If these two stay in they could end up with a nice score for Aus to chase.

    Its hard chasing there at night too. Now looks like it could be game on. I thought it was game over for England way back already. These two are fighting hard for England.

    commentators :devil: curse

    @superBul – 7

    LOL. 216/7 now after 41 overs. Not sure how long they will last now. That was a good partnership going on there.

  • 9

    222/7 after 42 overs. Could still land up with 250 Super. Just need to keep their wickets.

  • 10

    @Puma – 9

    Actually if they keep their wickets they should end up with more than 250.

  • 11

    Well B. Lee went for 12 in that last over. England I think are back in this game. 134/7 after 43 overs.

  • 12

    @Puma – meant 237/7

  • 13

    Great scoring by ENG, we will have our work cut out against them this season. The ex saffas worries me.

    al wat jy sien is die wit masjien

  • 17

    @superBul – 14

    Well I called it almost right by saying 250 earlier. Not good that England got two run outs. Could have had at least another 15 or so on the board and also not good to not finish your 50 overs. Saying that at one stage thought England would have landed up with 150 runs. So they hung in there.

    They say its a good batting wicket so Oz should win this but you never know. Lets see.

    @superBul – 13

    It should be a good contest come the end of the year. Cant wait. It was great last December watching the Proteas in Oz. This should be as good. We need to get some game time though.
