In a massive turnaround of events, the Lions have decided against signing English lock Simon Shaw.
Shaw is currently injured and will not recover in time to join the Lions’ squad for the 2010 Super 14. This is a setback for the Lions, however a reliable source has informed me that the Lions are currently in talks with numerous quality players that have shown interest on moving to the Lions.
Good news is that Jannie Boshoff extended his contract to 2011, Todd Clever has also committed to the Lions -the duration of the contract is still uncertain. Other news out of the camp is that it has been confirmed that Louis Ludik and Willem Alberts will stay with the Johannesburg side.
Together with players interested in moving to the Lions, the Lions are currently interviewing coaches for the Super 14 position for next season. Unfortunately no names can be disclosed as yet, but it has been confirmed that two highly experienced international coaches have shown interest in the postition.
Injured English Jan. Pity.
Pity he would have brought experience to the Lions even at 36 years of age.
Wonder who is the international coaches that are interested in the position as coach? Eddie Jones perhaps?

It is a pity, but best we dont spend millions on a injured player.
I think all Lions supporters are wondering the exact same thing. We are looking forward to the news of the new signings and who the new coach will be. But will admit, the suspense are killing me . . .. :lion:
