The Vodacom Blue Bulls’ prop Werner Kruger as well as their centre Wynand Olivier have picked up injuries against the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington on Saturday.

Kruger had to leave the field in the first half due to a rib injury and Olivier struggled with an ankle, but Dr Org Strauss is optimistic that both will recover in time for Saturday’s clash at Loftus Versfeld against the Free State Cheetahs.

Olivier’s Springbok team mate, Bakkies Botha, will definitely not be able to play against the Cheetahs and Bryan Habana is currently on his honeymoon and is therefore also not available but there is a slight chance that Fourie du Preez might be eligible.

Dr Strauss said on Saturday night that Du Preez’s chances are 50/50 and a call will only be made later the week.

The rest of the Bulls who toured with the Springboks in Australasia will join up with the squad on Monday. That includes guys like Pierre Spies, Victor Matfield, Danie Rossouw and Morné Steyn.

@Ed_the_Lion – Sorry, Willem is not injured.

@Puma – Peppermint tea, very healthy and great after a meal. No milk or sugar and hot!

  • 423

@Ed_the_Lion – Who are the Lions playing next?

  • 424

@carol – Never could face minted tea!

Contract just started, so can’t say yet. What I know is that it is a privilege to work here in this area and get paid to do so!

I am on a very slow connection, went from 2G to Edge, skipped GPRS. All I know it is slow. Always slow in George, even Kleinbrak close by has 3G!!!

So I’ll read a bit and do other things before I go to bed. Good night.

@carol – Boland. Tight one to call. I think the Lions might win because it home ground advantage for them.

@Ed_the_Lion – LOL. Yeah just wait…hehehe. They my 2nd team you know. I decided that after they beat the Brumbies at Ellis Park this year. Was so proud of them. Then they almost beat the Chiefs and the Blues too. Those games were so close it could have gone either way.

Sad how the Lions have drifted to where they are. I grew up in Joburg and it makes me sad to see (TVL now Lions) where they are.

@Puma – Tell you what Puma, I chose West Indies to beat Pakistan……bad move WRS tells me!! I thought I would choose the underdog for a change!
No one thinks Sri Lanka will beat S.A , no surprise there!!

I never drink sugar in my tea or coffee Carol. But will never drink Peppermint tea. Sounds awful….haha. Rooibos is one of the most healty teas to drink. I love the stuff. And its made here in good old SA..hehe.

@Puma – Sad indeed Puma. I talk about it every day. I send them e-mail and give them advice, but somebody is screwing the systems up in the GLRU. Was interresting to see what Jack Sparrow had to say about it.

  • 430

@Boerboel – Mint tea so much better than coffee after a meal, give it a try one day!
Enjoy your time in George and sleep well too.

Sad it is. Hope they can sort it out. Such a big franchise and in a city like Joburg!! With that amount of money they should have the very best playing for them and the best coaches.

Then its the area where Ellis Park is I think that put off many players. Ellis Park I must say is looking grand. Went to see the British and Irish Lions play Boks there. Still a great stadium just the area. I much prefer to go to the Tank. Safe the area and loads of car park for everyone and we all braai there after and before too. Good family atmoshpere there.

@Puma – Just click on Make your picks and you will see how much time you have left to pick.
Some guys leave it very late, i sort of anticipate. And I did my best in a soccer game by picking every game right after joining, missed the win by .5 points
