Western Province and the Blue Bulls produced the least impressive performance of the big guns as the teams finished off their pre-season Currie Cup build-up with a series of friendly matches at the weekend.
Johannesburg – The inclusion of scrumhalf Jano Vermaak who has been linked to the Natal Sharks and Springbok centre acquisition Waylon Murray are the most notable features in the Xerox Lions side to play the Boland Cavaliers in a compulsory friendly in Wellington on Saturday.
Only time will tell whether the Golden Lions have pulled off a major coup or made another giant mistake, but the appointment of John Mitchell to coach the side in the Currie Cup is nothing short of bizarre.
