    @ nortie:
If I was Brussow I would say thanks, but no thanks.

Wait for next season when thee is a new coach at the helm who will treat me fairly.

  • 272

    271 @ Nama:
Agree, I was also thinking that he should decline…..but then it would probably just backfire on him.
They won’t take a snub like that lightly, even if there is a new coach…..just ask Fransie 😆

  • 273

    No Flip v/d Merwe?

  • 274

    @ Nama:
These “training squads” are basically just a laugh….every player and his dog, whether they can walk or not, have been called up…..even Kanko has been invited

Tell that to the Lions who only cracked 5 invites.

    @ Nama:
I did yesterday. I said mapoe is the form 13 in the lions thread… Serfontein didnt even play this weekend so how can he be judged anyway.

Well since you hold the conference trophy in such high regard. We won it 2013…

No wonder the Blues was so kak this year. If 5 of their last 6 games are at home it means that 7 of their 1st 10 games were away from home.

If the Bulls expect a walkover against them they might just be in for a big surprise now that the Blues will have 4 consecutive home games when the Bulls tour there. The games against the Rebels an the Force over the next two weeks may just give them the winning momentum before they face the Bulls.

    Be warned!

  • 278

    @ Nama:
Yes he should really turn down being a springbok because the coach is a real meanie

  • 279

The franchise breakdown appears to be as follows:

    Stormers – 19
    Bulls – 15
    Sharks – 12
    Cheetahs – 7
    Lions – 5
    Kings – 1

    {Dunno if I counted correctly – tis difficult with 2 different squads overlapping in some respects, but not in others.}

    @ Nama:
Still unsure what you are inplying about hougaard… If you believe he isnt good enough just say so. Dont be so cryptic like you accuse other users of being regularly.

  • 281

    @ nortie:
I also don’t see much sense in it if you consider the fact that we can take only 31 players to the RWC and that quite a few places are sorted out with players having been given Bok contracts until the end of the year.

This is what Meyer said when the contracts were signed by these players as reported on 15 Nov 2013: “‘They get a guaranteed retainer,’ Heymans told SARugbymag.co.za. ‘They will get a monthly salary until the end of 2015, or until their contract specifies.

‘The contracts give the players security as they know that they’ll be part of the Bok set-up for two or three years.

I’m not 100% certain but I believe there are about 18/19 players with Bok contracts. Factor in certainties like Habana, FdP, Pienaar, Pollard etc who do not have contracts then you realise that there really are not that many place up for grabs.

A waste of money to invite that many players imo.

Anyway huge squad. Only player missing for me is warrick tecklenberg. Kanko is really lucky.

  • 283

    @ Nama:
Meyer is building to 2019 as well 😉

  • 284

Flip also not making the squad is pretty huge

  • 285

    @ MacroBull:
It’s obvious that the coach does not rate Brussow as highly as many of us do.

  • 286

    @ Nama:
So much so to turn down the chance he gets?

  • 287

    @ MacroBull:
I won’t be surprised if he is reappointed. His record against the AB notwithstanding.

Markgraaf was given the additional responsibility as manager of the Bok team after he became the 1st Bok coach ever to lose a series against the AB in 1996. Worry

  • 288

    @ MacroBull:
Didn’t he turn down an invite last year or the year before citing an injury?

  • 289

    @ Nama:
I dont really see russouw ever turning down a change to wear the green jersey

  • 290

    @ Nama:
The rest of his record is outstanding though… But for the big blip in the eoyt last tear that was a big failure.

  • 291

    Chance

  • 292

    Brussouw

  • 293

The following players on the FRINGES (but no means certain) of Bok selection have (imo) really put up their hands this season:

    H Brüssow, S Burger, J du Plessis, S Kitshoff, S Ntubeni, W Whiteley, D de Allende, Jesse Kriel, L Mapoe, R Paige, K van Wyk, V Koch, E Jantjies.

Do you notice what I see? There are players of every SA SR2015 franchise on this list – except for the Sharks, which is an indication of how poorly the Sharks have performed this year, collectively and individually. (I guess that some would argue that SP du Toit should be on that fringe list, but I regard him as a certain selection, when fit).

  • 294

    re 293
Oops, Hougaard should be on that list as well

  • 295

    @ MacroBull:
He is also the only Bok coach who can’t boast a 100% win record against the Argies.

If you take away the 6 matches that the Boks played against Argentina (only the 12th ranked team in the world) the last 3 years, it leaves him with a record of 20 wins in 31 games. That a 64.52 winning percentage. On a par with PdV (62%) and Jakey (66%).

    Nothing to brag about.

  • 296

    @ Angostura:
Even mvovo who was excellent under jakeball has lost ground.

  • 297

    293
Oops again, SP du Toit = PS du Toit

  • 298

    @ Nama:
Stats and stats… Jake and and pdv also had a couple of gimme games at the world cup. Heyneke has had a few setbacks… But with the young players he is also bringing through on tbe fringes you will see us not only winning the all blacks but also dominate rugby 2016-2019.

From this squad you can almost big your 2019 world cup squad as well!

  • 299

For me it is not so much about the players that is going to be selected. It is more about the game plan that we are going to employ that will determine whether we are going to be successful in the RWC.

We DO HAVE the players. They are out there.

  • 300

“…you will see us not only winning the all blacks but also dominate rugby 2016-2019.

Do you feel alright? Is jou voorkop nie ‘n bietjie warm nie?
