You have next week… we have the whole of next YEAR!

    Hehehe

WP were a bit flat today

The fact that 13 of the starting team did not play last week might have something to do with it

Kolbe also played his first game after being injured for a while.. same goes for Kleyn… Senatla played his first 15 man game in months… Elstadt is also still picking up after being out for a long time…

I expect more cohesion and a much better performance from the team next week.

Not sure what they will do if Carr is out though… They cannot play the Lions with Elstadt/Rhodes and Notshe as loosies.. maybe they must move Rhodes to lock, Elstadt to 6 and bring the specialist fetcher Kitshoff in at number 6.

    447 @ Pietman:

    Should’ve played Pollard at 10.

    Boks before Bulls.

We simply played according to how to stop the Bulls juggernaut. Next week we play a side that doesn’t look for contact and want to keep the ball alive.
Will adapt our game plan accordingly and hopefully get some turnover ball as well.

  • 461

at least we have 1 shark in a final next week.

    Sterkte Snoekie 😀

  • 462

@ Pietman: Naand Piet. Hoe gaan die jong?

  • 463

    @ nortie:
PW has progressively missed more and more tackles as the season went along.

But at least they keep on winning and that is all that really counts 🙂

    @ Tassies:
Ok dankie Tassies, en daar? Verlede week hierdie tyd het ek ook nog wyn gedrink soos jy Cry-Out
Nou moet ek more vroeg op die heilige Sondag gaan werk….tyd dat hierdie sonde end kry.
Einde Januarie skud ek die woestynstof af my broer!

Seems AC, Matty and Robbie are good for at least one more season then?

    @ robzim:
    Indeed it does!

    Congratulations WP

And Bulls fans, your team performed beyond expectation (you surely didn’t expect them to win, did you?) – so give them credit.

Had Pollard played at 10, JLP warmed the bench & Pro made less mistakes detrimental to the Bulls cause, the Bulls would’ve won – and that would’ve been a massive upset.

WP fans, on the other hand, should be worried … very, very worried …

Not to forget us Sharksters who are en mass cutting off our fins & exporting it to China & then offering our torsos to those farkin killer Lions as an amuse bouche!

Dis k@k, maar 2015 is tog nog ‘n kansie vir Koning- (verskoon die woordspeling) kraai …

    @ robzim:
    Looks like it 😀
To be fair, judging by the CC season they have done ok, both we and the Lions (who everyone is rightly raving about) will be nowhere again come SR

  • 470

Raait julle latte, sien julle by die finaal!
    Dankie eers, tjeers vir eers.

  • 471

Sal selfs vir Pollard ruil vir ‘n goeie afrigter, desperate times need desperate calls. Met Barend en Ludeke aan die stuur gaan dit net slegter gaan, en gaan Pollard skade optel.

    My voorspellings vir komende Saterdag

    Bulle 0/19
    WP 0/21
    Leeus

    @ Angostura:

As a WP fan I am quite happy and not worried at all.

The way I see it is:

The Lions have peaked today… Province had a bad day but still won and will be much better next week… they are sure as hell not going to lose 2 home finals in succession

The glass is half full 🙂

Isnt that what you guys said last year?

  • 474

The Stormers played kak rugby in 2014… all defence and no attack.

In the Currie Cup WP have reached a much, much better balance between attack and defence.

    Gert Smal’s influence, I think!

… it was just a mind shift or 2… small little things!

Next year will be the year of the Stormer. Loose trio of Schalk (6), Thormeulen (7) and Carr (8) to dominate all comers and lift the rest of the team into a super rugby winning machine 🙂

  • 476

    @ MacroBlouBul:
I’m happy with WP in the CC Macro, the Lions will play their all out attacking game, we need to be solid on defense, same as during the 1st round at Newlands against them

  • 477

    @ nortie:
Id be worried about your defense, but with homeground advantage I also think Pw will be favorites.

    Poetic! haha

The Sharks have regressed badly from Super Rugby to what they did and how they played in the Currie Cup.

The Cheetahs & Free State Cheeahs have had a nightmare year!

The Lions did not have a great Super Rugby season but signs of positive things were there in the front row and the overall pattern. In the Currie Cup the Golden Lions game started gelling nicely and they play a lekker brand of rugby now.

The Bulls had a so-so Super Rugby Season… errors and wrong team selections as well as wrong game plan hampering them… and that just continued in the Currie Cup.

Unfortunately a glass half full is not enough – not enough to down a Lion … and feel satisfied: 😀
