lets hope this early game isnt as turgid as the second test was. that was just a pure slugfest, credit to both teams for the effort though.

Tipped the Aussies, Abs and SA to continue the SH tradition. Shame Argentina let the side down already.

    @ nga puhi:
Morning brother from another mother, howzit!
Hope you are well…and that the ABs are going to do the business properly today, you boys haven’ t really shifted to the fast lane against the Poms yet. Reid could well be the ignition you need…

I hope the ABs do mate, i’m not sure on read, hasnt had a lot of gametime but he is a great player. hope he comes through unscathed. worried his confidence may not be there due to his problems.
They deserve to at least tie the record imho.

Tipped your mob by plenty, so they best not disappoint

    @ nga puhi:
Helo nga puhi saw your comment on the Argentina/Scotland thread, cheers it was so nice in the end to get the narrow win, still need to get time to find highlights of it. Sounds like Mr Cotter is a decent coach, certainly had a good record at Clermont, there was a lot of unhappiness at how his appointment went – we had to wait a year after he was announced as head coach for him to start so Scott Johnson ended up in a caretaker role, but its done now and now that the man has arrived we just have to move forward. For me the tour splitting in two parties was a good thing as there is not much time for Cotter to get up to speed with things in Scottish rugby so this gave him the option of looking at lots of various players in short space of time, almost like trials but in real time. Think he needs the time to get to know his players, obviously for this test his options were limited but it sounds like for example he used inside centre Peter Horne in a way that he probably shouldn’t – as a battering ram bash it up role, when Horne is more a really good distributor and not really suited to crashball as he is quite small. But on the whole I really rate your Kiwi coaches, just look what Mr Gatland did with the Welsh and Lions, and Joe Schmidt with Leinster and now Ireland.

Skelton looks huge must be hard to stop when he gets going

  • 25

Faaaaark, this Skelton is massive, 140 kgs they say! Frogs will have to gang up on him or he is going to spil some serious ” parraderms” today, on debut.
Where did they get this youngster from?

Kia ora bullscot. I have a soft spot for the Scots, one of my fav players ever was the fullback a few years back. Gavin Hastings. Always admired the way he played. Youve mentioned Cotters time at Clermont, he obviously has good systems and man management skills, will be watching with interest how their progression pans out. SA next week will be a stern test for him in the role so early on.
