Michael CheikaWaratahs coach Michael Cheika faces a judicial hearing over his alleged sideline confrontation with a television cameraman in Durban.

Super Rugby’s governing body, SANZAR, on Thursday announced it completed an investigation into the incident which occurred during the Waratahs’ Super Rugby clash with the Sharks at Kings Park on 29 March.

Pay-channel SuperSport lodged a complaint against Cheika over a verbal confrontation he allegedly had with a cameraman.

It’s understood the cameraman was filming Cheika after he’d left the coach’s box and gone down to the sideline mid-match.

SANZAR has referred the matter for a hearing in accordance with SANZAR’s disciplinary rules.

The matter will be heard by SANZAR judicial officer Nigel Hampton via teleconference on Wednesday 16 April at 09:30 (SA Time).

SANZAR said it would make no further comment until the process was completed.

    Blah blah blah.

Whilst I can sympathise to an extent with the cameraman and SS….. on second thoughts, stuff SuperSport…… I can sympathise with the cameraman, but SURELY we don’t want a bunch of emotionless robots running and coaching Rugby?

I realise that Cheika is a bit of a hot head, but aren’t all Rugby enthusiasts at heart?

“I realise that Cheika is a bit of a hot head, but aren’t all Rugby enthusiasts at heart?”

True but this guy seems a bit of a dick, did you see him in the Stormers game when Skelton was penalised for diving over the ruck for a clearly offside position, he reacted like a schoolboy, knowing very well the camera’s are on him.
Like the commentator side, there’s the real world and then there is the Michael Cheika world.

Shoving a camera in his face provoking him?

Not sure, but so far its only been a one sided story.
