also happy with how the scrums held up. all in all the sharks look reaply strong this year.
Marcell Coetzee gets deserved Man Of The Match
Luister na BBC sport, hul se die dryfbeweging wat Bulls oppad na doellyn was en Peyper het hul geblaas, asook drie na Bresler se knock en speel Willemse in lynstaan wat Peyper kamstig gemis het, het die Bulle gekos.
Weereens jammer dat Peyper die game opgemors het, dink die Sharks sou gewen het, maar nie so maklik nie.
Here is my view as a neutral supporter who does not support either team and bears no great love for any of these two teams.
Bulls = No proper decision making number 10, the ball never went past number 12, Hougaard is not anywhere close to par and should not be starting at all and this problem is in it’s second season now, Visser should not even be in a Valke squad never mind a Super rugby squad. He can not run and this is why he only kicks and lastly – only about 5 of the Bulls players were defending throughout the game.
Sharks = Did not do too much wrong. However, there was quite a build up of how great the Sharks are and how they are going to massacre the Bulls. Yet at crunch time the Sharks did not look so potent. Jordaan was on the money and Lambie had his best game in 2 years. But all in all this was a very weak Bulls side compared to previous seasons.
To top it of they was some calls by the ref which did not make any sense. And up until about 55 min it was a 50/50 scenario. From there on it favoured the Sharks out and out which also led to the final try by Lambie.

Sharks to structure better, they were too frenetic most of the time. Bulls need to work on backline gelling and their loosies combining properly

304: goeie opsomming. Bulle se skakelpaar was swak, hopelik sal P&P volgende week speel. Hougaard moet vleuel speel, of ander moet hy maar gaan.
Pieter-Steph du Toit made no real impact.
Paul Jordaan was excellent in the backline.
SP Marais was solid at fullback.
Lambie was good, so too Frans Steyn.
Lwazi Mvovo had some brilliant moments.
Cobus Reinach was very sharp.
Sharks front row did not impress in the scrums, although Beast & Bissie was busy in the loose… Jannie was nowhere.
Willem Alberts was super quiet.
Kanko is like Spies, was just busier in the loose.
@ Ben: Ek dink Hougarrd moes al ‘n seisoen terug gegaan het. Maar ek stem ook saam dat hy ‘n beter vleul is en met Piet van Zyl in die span is hy ook nie die begin scrummie wat ek sou kies nie.
On the Bulls side I see it as follows:
Bulls pack as a whole had a good game, specially first half, where they earned all the territorial advantage… small mistakes cost tries.
Callie Visagie messed up 3 lineout throws.
Dean Greyling and Werner Kruger were not outscrummed and we saw far less penalties from those 2. Still better to start with Frik Kirsten at tighthead and with Morné Mellet when he returns.
Bulls locks were more physical than their counterparts.
Jono Ross is no opensider, but did not have a bad game. Bulls missed an out and out fetcher.
Jacques du Plessis was busy and had a good day… but we miss the grunt Vleis Engelbrecht constantly brings.
Pierre Spies was not good at all, worst Bulls forward on the day.
Francois Hougaard did not have a good day, and Piet van Zyl made an immediate impact when he came on.
Louis Fouche has a huge boot, but that’s about it. Maybe the Bulls should just stick with Pollard and basta.
Jan Serfontein and JJ Engelbrecht did not impress and was ovrshadowed by their Sharks counterparts.
Akona tried hard, but he is old in the teeth now.
Bjorn Basson did not see much ball on the run… pity about the Yellow against him.
I said before the season that Jurgen Visser worries me… and he proved me right.
So, the Bulls, like predicted, have problems at Hooker, Flyhalf and Fullback… and also at No 8 and 9.

Die Bulle het baie beter geskrum as wat meeste verwag het. Lynstane in 1e helfte was beroerd, maar dalk Callie se ingooie ? JDP was goed, Ross OK, en Spies soos gewoonlik stil.
Skakelpaar beroerd. Senters so-so, en agterste driehoek glad nie in die game nie.
Lang jaar wat vir die Bulle voorlê, maar die goeie spel van die agttal en die dryfbewegings was darem ‘n ligpunt.

314, stem saam met Basson op heelagter, hy is goed onder die hoë bal. Sal vir Jessie Kriel ook daar ingooi as hy weer reg is. Dit is nou groot bouproses by Bulle, so gooi al die jongmanne nou al in, moenie wag nie.

320: Jan en JJE of Jan en WS Smith gaan geen groot rugby speel met Fouche op 10 nie. Pollard of JLP moet daar speel. Al die balle wegskop is om van te huil, Bulle het nie generaal daar agter om jongmanne te stuur nie.

Die probleem wat nou ontstaan is dat Fouche Morne Steyn she shadow was en dis maar wat hy gaan bly. Fouche is nie gemaak vir die tipe rugby nie. Dalk eerder vir Potgieter speel met Pollard op die bank. Potgieter het darem al bietjie van hierdie rugby gespeel. So dis dalk die beste opsie. En dan ook Matfield as Kaptein. en moet ook begin op nommer 5.
Maar ja wat ons sal sien. Ek het gedink die Bulle gan baie swakker vertoon en het nie te swak gedoen nie. Ek sien darem hoop, maar daar moet nou eers aan die sleutel probleme gewerk word. En dis nommer 10 en 15. En as dit nie nou reg gestel word nie gaan dit nog baie kopsere die seisoen vir die Bulle gee.

Well done Sharks. On the day you were the better team. I thought Jordaan, Coetzee and Lambie were exceptional on the night. Marais is an up and coming talent…
