    Better to forget this anyway.

    SA are 163/7 against SL

    @ dWeePer:
The Proteas seem to have fallen off the bus in one day cricket.

Am quietly confident about the overall series.

Every team that has broken the Kings open have ran at them and spread the ball wide.

When teams try to take it up close to the forwards the Kings defence holds out VERY well.

Lions should have the edge in the scrums. Depending on how Franco fits back in the line-outs should be quite even, and the battle on the ground could be close with the likes of Minnie and Kriel being vital for the Lions.

If the game gets loose, expect Warren Whitely to feature prominently.

IF Bondisio plays, (and a little bird whispered to me that it was actually unlikely!) then he’ll be VERY important to the Lions cause. They don’t have ANY back-up if he’s not there.

I’m quite surprised that Ackermann is starting with Jantjies. Marnitz Boschoff hasn’t been at all bad this season, but I’m sure the coach knows what he’s doing.

Kings have some obvious weakness in the centre, whilst the Lions pair have played quite well this season, albeit against largely inept opposition.

Deon van Rensburg must be just about the slowest wing still playing at this level, but I feel he may be in for his experience and slightly better defence.

Anthony Volmink has some serious speed, and if he sniffs the whitewash should be a thorn in the Kings side.

Lions bench looks stronger than the Kings, and I expect the likes of the other speedster Chrysander Botha could well play more than a bit part tonight.

I reckon it’ll be a close game down in the Bay and obviously my heart says the Lions. The head remains somewhat undecided though.

What I do know, is that if the Lions manage to pull off a win in PE tonight, expect fireworks in JHB next week. (And me to be totally hung over tomorrow!)

Of course, SARU may well decide that the results of these games are of no importance and decide as they wish who’ll be in the SR competition next year anyway.

Irrespective, the team that fails to participate in Super Rugby next season, may well not be in any position to play any meaningful part in an expanded competition from 2016.

Rest assured, being excluded WILL break either of these “franchises” going forward.

I suppose I better make my Bru picks….

  • 5

OK, I have gone with the MTN Lions on Bru…. by 5.

    Don’t let me down!

  • 6

    Go Lions

  • 7

    3 Hours and counting

  • 8

I have gone with Lions by 5 as well.

I have to say it was a great pleasure to watch the Kings supporters this year. They were brilliant in supporting their team. Also Kings won many of us over by playing some good rugby that none of us expected. Really can not wait for 2016 when we can have our 6 teams playing. Was sad not to see the Lions there this year and will feel sad not to see Kings next year if they don’t make it. Feel for these teams supporters and the players.

Good luck to both teams. Though Lions are my 2nd team so will support them tonight.

Given the Lions’ recent impressive run of results in the Lions Series they look like favorites, but there is a difference in conditioning that comes from playing Super Rugby so I wouldn’t be all that surprised either way.

All in all just looking forward to some good Rugby.

The Proteas finally won a game against Sri Lanka!

They won the 3rd ODI by 56 runs, limiting Sri Lanka to 167 all out, after scoring 223 / 7.

The series of 5 ODI’s is now still in Sri Lanka’s favour by 2 games to 1.
