    @ Loosehead:
    And the unseasonal flooding lol

  • 152

    3 Minutes to go…
Lions will be 2 from 2 for the season, and the Cheetahs 0 from 1

  • 153

It’s ok, we lost to the Lions in the 1st match last year too, and then went on to play some good rugga Tounge-Out

  • 154

At times like this it is rather difficult being a Cheetahs supporter.

  • 155

Well if the plonkers at FNB can grovel on front of the ANC, I guess Naka best go grovel in front of Toyota’s showroom lol

  • 156

Lions got better as the game progressed and leads the 2nd half scoring by a massive 26 / 5

  • 157

    Seconds left in the match

    @ Loosehead:
Never fear Loskoppie, the Cheetahs will be back, and have firewater in their bellies when they take on the bullies in Orighstad!

  • 159

I think that, even though its the ‘second’ team, Cheetahs should be doing better than this – exposing the depth?
@ Puma: Going well, snow all around us, kids have had a ball in it. Temp is a bit chilly, but getting used to it!

  • 160

… and none of the much more vaunted Cheetahs subs did anything special in the 2nd Half….

  • 161

Lions over the line…. but no try.

    Game over

  • 162

    Sheisse.

Didn’t see this one coming. There goes my ‘bru.. Bru.

Cheetahs missing some stars but expected more from them, or was it a case of expecting less from the Lions??

    Pondering Pondering Weary

I would like to thank the Bools for selling us the shit that is Rossouw De Klerk.
But the we should have known that if he was behind the shit that is Werner Kruger at the Bools, then he must be shitter than shit.

  • 165

Imagine the embarrassment, if the Lions rattled through all the home unions, giving them all a snot-klap!

  • 166

Well done Lions. Very good win.

Now really looking forward to seeing them play the Kings.

Another thing great to see so many of their supporters coming out to support them. As we know they not in S15 this year and to come and show their support for their team is tremendous for their players. Also sends a strong message to saru for messing up.

Okay that is me back tomorrow or during the week.

Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone.

    165 @ Just For Kicks:
The Lions have the massive motivation factor behind them, THIS is their MTN Lions Challenge Tournament, replacing Super Rugby in total, so for them this is not warm-up rugby, for them this counts and so does every encounter from hereon in.

  • 168

It’s raining here in the Panne, nice to cool down from the heat a bit.

  • 169

    165 @ Just For Kicks:
hahahaha. That would be a huge embarrassment not for the home unions but rather for saru for messing up so badly.

  • 170

    169 @ Puma:
Guts and Passion can only take the Lions so far… it won’t last all season or all year.

  • 171

    168 @ grootblousmile:
Ag, you guys are soft up there……hehehehe. Come try that heat with the humidity, then we talk……. Tounge-Out

  • 172

Lol, well played Lions, I am still not too fussed. As GBS said, the Lions are out to prove a point. Cheetahs were more intent on testing new players, trying combinations, and surely trying to avoid pre season injuries.

I will start worrying when we play this badly against the Bools with a full strength side.

  • 173

    170 @ grootblousmile:
I know but they doing well so far. Look I am no fool, Cheetahs were without plenty of their top players, but feel good for Lions for not stepping back. Sends a message to Saru and it should. They were treated really bad.

Next weekend, Saturday at 15:00 the Lions play in their 3rd game, against the Bulls (their first game of the year), at Orlando Stadium, Soweto.

    Hi All

Just managed to rip my wife’s laptop out of her grasp for a couple of minutes.

Not a great game was it, and frankly the youner Jonker is as bad if not worse than his older boet. He certainly missed a good game IMO.

Typical early season game from the ‘tahs, but the Lions showed some grit to hang in there. This Lions team is not even a full strength CC side, rather a mix of Vodacom and CC.

Bulls will be a different kettle of fish next week, but Lions confidence must be high and after 160 ,imutes of Rugger must be starting to gel a bit.

Some of the Lions subs, particularly Bomdidio and Lionel Cronje had a huge impact IMO.

Well done Lions. Let’s see if we can sneak one v the Bulls in Soweto next week.

Cheetahs have a bit to work on in the next 2 weeks.

  • 176

168 @ grootblousmile: the wind has been blowing here since the start of the year. I wish it would rain.

  • 177

Okay out of here now. Catch up tomorrow or during the week.

    Bye

  • 178

    171 @ Puma:
No fark man, who wants to be a bunch of sweaty shits like you lot… keep the humidity for yourselves… hehehe

  • 179

That’s me out, glad to see the thread this busy, and that with a dead rubber warm up match. Should heat up even more once the serious action starts.

Over and out fellow blogger, minions, and Webmonster!

    175 @ Scrumdown:
Puma fingers virus. Bondisio of course.
