Rugby-Talk started on 13 August 2009, and is therefore a naughty 3-Year old upstart, on Monday 13 August 2012.
It has not always been easy or simple, and hard work has gone into making this Rugby Community what it is.
A hearty word of congratulations to Rugby-talk, may the birthday presents come flying in like there is no tomorrow.
A heartfelt thanks to all Subscribers, new and old, all Authors past and present and everybody who has made a meaningful contribution to Rugby-Talk, taking it from strenght to strenght.
We are just shy of the magic 5 Million Page Impression mark at present, counted from 31 October 2009 only, a mark surely to be surpassed this week sometime, something we are eagerly looking forward to.
From time to time, some people have taken exception to the way things are done and run, yet I urge you to bear in mind the need to keep certain standards upheld and keeping it from the cesspool which other sites might represent. For the way things are done and run you won’t find any apologies or explanation bar to say that they are done with the best interests of the website at heart.
One can please some (most) people some (most) of the time, not all people all of the time.
5 438 Articles have seen the light, a total of 152 Main Pages and 26 Broader Categories appear on the Rugby-Talk website and a whopping 216 669 Comments make up the pages and Articles of this wonderful tool and community.
Rugby-Talk is read, respected and supported from all over the globe!
It has been a blast and may it continue to be so till kingdom come.

A massive congratulations to all involved, and to GBS for initiating the site. This is a site that I look forward to logging onto on a daily basis, if for nothing else than just to catch up on the latest news. A site that between the bloggers brings together articles from around the world, both authored by the bloggers themselves or by other rugby/news sites. It is your one stop shop into the world of rugga. On match days, the site evolves into a continuously updated ‘banter’ thread allowing for all to be able to check in at any time to catch up on the match situation, offer an opinion, follow if there is no t.v. coverage available, or just to catch up with mates.
It is a site that seems to be unique in it’s style, easily navigable and very informative. From live threads, through updated news to an almost complete history of previous games in various competitions from when it started, this site has it all. Including all the statistics for the real nerds amongst us.
Congratulations GBS for your tireless input, and on a personal note a big up to you and Superbul for being bigger than the game and hopefully ‘burying the hatchet’! I know that Supers also deserves a mention for his work that he has put into the site, and it it would be a sad day if we lost sight of that fact.
So something I never do, but…………….
3 Years…. sometimes it seems a lot longer, sometimes it seems like yesterday when we started.
It has been fun and it has been good… and it’s been a huge part of my life.
Situations NEVER stay static and one has to keep improving to stay at the top, which is what we will do and where we will stay. Been mulling around some ideas in my head lately on what I would like to achieve and where I would like the site to go, what I’d like to change on the site… if only time would allow me to do so.
For a website where not a single contributor to the active content does this for his daily bread or for ANY sort of income, this site certainly shows heels to EVERY other Rugby and Sporting website out there in the world. Passion and dedication is a wonderful thing.
If we managed to make 1 more person in the world more passionate or more rugby knowledgeable, we’ve achieved our goal…. and I know for a fact that we have done much more than that! We’ve shown our human side and our humility, we’ve ALL learned some rugby, we’ve built friendships and we’ve built an active community… and we’ve excelled in EVERYTHING we have done.
We are all winners by nature and by the way we have achieved things here at Rugby-Talk!

I started celebrating this day on July 28 already, in rememberance of the day we left Voldy for good…. for 3 weeks after that we were homeless, until Superbul, Boerboel. Supa and I started blogging here, a few lonely voices we were, before GBS even had the ‘roof fitted on our new RT shack’!
Some people from ‘the dark’ side had some mean farewell messages for us, urging the ‘KKK clan’ to go find someplace in ‘some garage in Orania’ to blog from (RobZim for one, I recall).
Well GBS, you did indeed built ‘some place’ for us rugby bloggers, you built THIS place, a rugby mansion where people of all colour, creed and religion (and provincial alliance[sic]) can speak freely without being discriminated against !!!!!!
Kudus bruvva, all I can say.

My ‘nuwejaarswens’ vir die volgende jaar:
1. dat ons ou strydbyle sal begrawe en mede-bloggers wat ons verlaat het weer sal uitnooi om weer saam te kom gesels.
2. dat ons almal nie te gevoelig sal raak nie, en sal besef die spel wat ons liefhet bly ‘n game, daar is baie belangriker dinge in die harde lewe daarbuite om oor ontsteld te word as wie se span is die sterktse en die beste.
3. dat die Bokke en HM sal goed doen in hul eerste jaar saam.
4. dat die Bulle na ‘n baie lang CB droogte van ‘n volle twee jaar weer die kerriekoppie sal wen. 😉
Voorstel: kom ons hou reunie vandag, dalk kan GBS aan almal wat hier geregistreer is ‘n email boodskap stuur dat ons verjaarsdagpartytjie hou vandag hier op die blog, nooi die ouens uit om hier te kom gesels oor die slegte ou dae op keo en die goeie ou dae hier op RT (jammer, Stormers/WP fans het nie veel om oor bly te wees die laaste dekade nie, maar ten minste hou hul aanhou hoop end droom, hehe).

Nee pietman ek is gesonder as wat ek was gaan maar oor gewig verlies na ek so sewe jaar terug opgehou rook het nadat my hart my aan geval het,toe het ek so 35 opgetel en het dit nou maar die laaste twee jaar weer af gewerk,is nou weer 110 met 10 pers ligaams vet so kan nog so 5kg afgooi
