The Scotland team that will start the match against Samoa this Saturday, 23rd June, has been announced. The match is set to take place in Apia. Kick off time will be 04.30 SA Time.

Andy Robinson has made three changes to the starting line up from the team that started last Saturday against Fiji.

The only change in the forwards sees eighthman Richie Vernon start in place of John Barclay. Barclay is returning home, as pre-arranged with the team management, to prepare for his wedding the following Saturday in Inverness.

There are two changes to the backline with scrumhalf Chris Cusiter starting in place of Mike Blair. The other change sees Sean Lamont replace Max Evans on the right wing, in what must be a move to try and counter what is expected to be a very physical Samoan team.

The replacements will be announced later this week.

Have just updated the Scotland team sheet – added the substitutes which were announced a while after the starting team.

Robert Harley went to school in MILGAVNIE, will give a big thumbs up later to anyone who can post how this place is pronounced. Harley will be hoping to earn his first cap off the bench, he is a loose forward but can also cover lock.

There were lots of complaints from Scotland fans the last few days about the fact that there would be no live TV coverage of the game against Samoa, the latest ‘plan’ that has been made by SRU to try get ‘live coverage’ to fans is to have someone tweeting live from the game on their twitter account: @scotlandteam The game could also be streamed live via Samoa tourism facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/SamoaTourismAuthority
Sounds like Samoan TV will have cameras there but the game will not be broadcast live on their TV networks. Oh the joy of modern technology!
