The Vodacom Bulls has signed a five year partnership with renowned sports brand Puma and the clothing brand will be the official kit supplier to every team under the Blue Bulls Company’s auspices.

Blue Bulls Company CEO Barend van Graan is delighted with the new partnership;

“Puma is a brand that is young, dynamic, adventurous and proud. As a Company we constantly strive towards such pillars and so see great synergy between these brands. We look forward to launching our new playing kit within the next few days, a kit that we believe adequately reflects our style of play and rugby ambitions.”

Puma has a long-term deal to supply full technical kit to all the Vodacom Blue Bulls teams and the Vodacom Bulls rugby team, and is the official distributor of the teams’ match replica gear. The Vodacom Super Rugby replica shirt will be available from 15 December 2011 and will retail for R599.

Happy-Grin gbs, ja maybe be should be rebranded as the “Blitz Bulle” for the Super 15… Undecided whether I like it or not but I guess in time will get used to it and may just have to add it to my collection, although I do prefer rugby jerseys with collars and it looks like a very tight fitting shirt, not sure I have the physique to wear one of them anymore maybe there will be a ‘supporters’ type one available that will be more comfortable for a non athlete Wink

    I have the same problem!

I used to have places with muscles… now I just have places.
I used to have tummy muscles, now I just have a tummy.
I used to have a ‘borskas’, now I have a ‘hangkas’

Argggg, do not like the design too much, but like you say, we will get used to it, I suppose.

Uh oh, if thats what the bully boys tops are going to look like, I hate to think what the Stormers are going to come out with. On second thoughts, who in their right minds would even be thinking of sponsoring them, so I guess the tops will stay the same. Phew. At least theres one thing to look forward to from the Stormers!

Farkit, when we have time to bitch and moan about rugby jerseys, then you MUST know real rugby news is scarse…

So… about the jerseys… wonder who in hell signed off on these freegin jersey designs…

    Hehehehe

  • 7

… we could always talk about Northern Hemisphere rugby in stead…

    Nahhh!

Wonder how kak the Stormers jerseys will be…

Meanwhile, the team’s away-jersey will look somewhat unfamiliar. Beeld reports that the jersey is pink with purple and blue flashes of lightning.

The Bulls are finally able to sport the logo PUMA, after they won a legal battle against Gilbert.

The Bulls on Tuesday announced a five year partnership with sports brand PUMA. The clothing brand will be the official kit supplier to every team representing the Pretoria-based union.

And according to Beeld this was made possible after a legal battle between the Blue Bulls Company, the legal arm of the Bulls, and their previous kit sponsor, Gilbert. Gilbert was the union’s main clothing and equipment sponsor for many years.

The Bulls wanted to end the partnership due to what they described as “poor service delivery and other problems”. But Gilbert took the matter to court when it heard of the Bulls’ interest in PUMA.

The saga was ended on Tuesday when an arbitrator decided in favour of the Blue Bulls Company.

The Blue Bulls were unable to play with either Gilbert or PUMA’s jerseys in the recent Currie Cup and the players were forced to cover Gilbert’s logo with stickers on their practice jerseys.

The Blue Bulls’ CEO Barend van Graan says he is overjoyed that they could finally sign up with PUMA after all the legal problems of the last few months.

“PUMA is a brand that is young, dynamic, adventurous and proud. We look forward to launching our new playing kit within the next few days, a kit that we believe adequately reflects our style of play and rugby ambitions.”

    @ grootblousmile:
Why do we slightly more rounded guys have to worry? The skinny guys worry about their 6 packs, but us cuddly guys carry kegs. Overjoy
