In news hot off the press, reports from the WP / Stormers High Performance Institute is that Schalk Ferreira has come out of retirement to play for the Franchise.
The 27 year old and 110kg prop has seemingly recovered from a serious neck injury and is back training with the Stormers. A favorite of Director of Rugby, Rassie Erasmus, Ferreira has covered all 3 front row positions in the past.

i must be honest and admit that for the 1st time in years i’m not looking forward to the new rugby season (from a stormers point of view). we’ve made some funny decisions in the last while like burton francis coming to the cape, watts added to the bigger squad while we still have grant, coleman, catrakillis, lionel cronje etc.
with them bringing in francis and watts, the question remain what will happen to the other guys.
will most propably end up at another union, and after helping that union to kick our asses in some game, leave us with the question of how we ever let them go.
the biggest problem i had with wp over the last few years were the lack of vision, the lack of identifying true talent and bring them through the ranks and the way we keep on bringing other unions’ has-beens here, and allow our youngsters to go there.
from the current evidence it seems like nothing has changed!!
if we keep on doing this, whats our chances of bringing home some silverware? none!! nada!! fokkol!!
so before the new season begin, let me start off by saying

Now is my chance to play Super Rugby!!! Looks like Stormers are scraping the barrel!!!.
Surely their clubs have some half decent props, and even their age group sides?
Looks like Stormers will prop up the table next year.

I remember him, vaguely, but I do, only because he and Schalk Burger had their neck injuries at the same time. at that stage it was said that he would never play again.
