France now on top of the 7 man Wales scrum

  • 62

  • 63

At last, a ref’ upholds the letter of the law, as well as the IRB directive on spear tackles.

Mr Warburton, you have just cost your country a place in the WC final, as well as disgraced your position as captain of your national team.

While controlled agression is required, there is no place for tackles like that in the game.

  • 64

    Good kick

  • 65

  • 66

Maybe teams should be get points and the player should be sent off, but replaced with another player. The match loses its value for us spectators if it’s 14 against 15.

  • 67

  • 68

    60@ The_Young_Turk:
The IRB directive is VERY clear on spear tackles. RED CARD.

Any ref who gives only a yellow is actaully wiping his arse on the IRB.

  • 70

63@ Scrumdown:Warberton already applying for asylum in Zimbabwe, can you imagine what the Welsh papers are going to be saying tomorrow

  • 71

    67@ Rugbyprof:
Stem saam.

  • 74

Welsh being hammered in the scrum now

  • 75

    @ Scrumdown:
Not contesting the decision as much as saying that they should look at other ways of punishing a team without spoiling the match for spectators. Maybe give a penalty try instead and send the offending player off but replace him with another.

  • 77

    @ Scrumdown

  • 78

Penalty to Wales , this one must be kicked or else they will drop their heads

  • 79

    Parra the Padda

  • 80

    70@ Just For Kicks:
He can come to SA and set up in Warburton in Mpumalanga.

Shitty little logging town with F all going on except cows and donkey’s in the road, overloaded timber carry trucks dropping their loads everywhere, and provincial traffic cops trapping people on their way to or from Swaziland hoping to get a decent bribe.

I’m sure big Sam could become quite popular and even run as Mayor in the next Municipal Election!

  • 81

  • 85

    70@ Scrumdown:LOL, brilliant!

  • 86

Brain farts from the Welsh now

  • 87

    Goeie parra skop.

  • 88

Really not enjoying this one bit.

  • 89

Guys, the refs decision was right. Not contesting that! Was according to the rules. Just disappointed that now it’s so much less dramatic for us spectators. Yes, teams have won with 14 against 15, but they are rare exceptions and usually against weaker opposition and not for three quarters of the match. Losing a player the last 10 mins or so is far different to playing most of the match a man down.

    77@ Rugbyprof:
No. The IRB directive is clear. I have it in writing. RED CARD. No extenuating circumstances on the field.

For the most part, the ref’s are just too scared to take the required action.

I think that after Bryce’s display last week, you’ll see the ref’s being ultra strict on certain aspects.

Still massive differences in interpretation between NH and SH refs IMO.
