The Cheetahs have paid a price for their 33-20 victory over the Crusaders as two core players have ruled out due to injury.

Springbok flank Heinrich Brussow has only just returned from a hamstring injury but is expected to miss the next three weeks of Super Rugby at least due to another hamstring injury.

Brussow was forced to leave the field early on in the Cheetahs match against the Crusaders.

Cheetahs lock Waltie Vermeulen is also ruled out for this week’s match at least as he has concussion after he fell in a line out on a shoulder that he was already struggling with.

The Cheetahs have won three matches in a row now and could go to four matches in succession if they beat Super Rugby newcomers the Rebels this weekend.
