The first half belonged to the Waratahs, with most of the ball and doing most of the attacking but the second half was exactly the opposite with the Chiefs attacking hard.

66 The Chiefs run it out of their own half after a deep restart from Beale but the ball is turned over and the Waratahs backline will have a chance to run. They pour forward and bash their way over the 22 but the ball is lost forward neither team seems to want to take control of this game. The Chiefs come again, driving it with their forwards.

67 Nanai-Williams hits a gap and tries to get the offload away in the tackle but the Waratahs ahd entered an earlier ruck from the side and they receive a warning from the referee. Delany has another shot at goal and he misses again, that is crucial

72 The Chiefs build again, they need to score soon if they are going to steal this one. Ross gets over the gain line as they come up to halfway. Kahui finds Seeney in a gap, he tries to get it to Nanai-Williams on his outside but the ball is lost. They get it back and Sivivatu looks to run it out of the 22 but there is not much structure to what they are doing. Messam creates a gap with good stepping but they are making ground. The ball is lost and the ball is cleared by the Waratahs but that gives Masaga a chance to run. He beats a couple of defenders as the Chiefs get on the front foot once more. This has been an impressive second half display from the visitors. They have advantage after the Waratahs went offside again and Nanai-Williams has been given the kicking duties, he slots thePENALTY and we are all set for a thrilling finish.
74 The Chiefs have it again, they go wide with Umaga making good ground. Nanai-Williams has slotted into flyhalf and the backline is looking fluid but the ball is knocked on on halfway and the Waratahs will want to slow things down, hold on to the ball and squeeze out a win here.

77 The Waratahs have slowed it right down and the scrum is reset twice before they finally get it away. Mitchell kicks it to Sweeney and the Chiefs have another chance to run it upfield.

79 They chuck it wide but Messam can’t hold on to a long pass on the 22. The Waratahs keep it close and drive it up but the Chiefs dropped their bind at the scrum and Beale will have one last shot at goal. He kicks the PENALTY over and that should make it safe for the home team.
80 The hooter goes and the Waratahs have held on for a tight win. It was a game of two halves and the Chiefs fought back well in the second period but they just didn’t have enough to beat the Waratahs at home.
Next game tomorrow the Blues and the Cheetahs.
