32 Saili drops the ball in midfield and Raubenheimer snaps it up. He is ankle tapped and loses it forward and the Blues find touch. The Cheetahs go wide from the line-out and they get over the gain line well. They get a penalty but Pretorius takes it quickly and they end up regretting that as the ball is ripped away.

The Bulls have a bit of a surprise this morning. They will be playing in new jerseys. Revealed ONLY here on the official Bulls Facebook and Twitter feeds. Check in around 7.30am

Hoop net nie dit is ook bleddie pienk nie. Het jy gesien hoe pienk was die Pumas se kouse in die Vodacom Cup game?

35 The Cheetahs come again, they seem desperate to score before half-time. Oosthuizen crashes it up and they look good but Floors loses it and the pressure releases once more. The Cheetahs have started to see more ball but they need to be be more effective with it. The Blues carry it out of their 22 but the ball is lost forward after a 50/50 pass is thrown and the Cheetahs have it back.

Luister na die kommentaar nou , so eg. Ja hulle erken dit is vorentoe en dat Cheetahs ongelukkig is. Maar soos hulle se dit staan en sal nie verander nie

  • 39

38 The cheetahs go to the backline from the scrum but they battle to make ground and the ball is turned over. The Blues counter attack ruthlessly. Meealamu snapped it up and gave it to Afoa, he went to ground and from the next phase Brett releases McAlister who was running a great angle. McAlister gave it back to him and the flyhalf was over for the TRY. McAlister bounces the CONVERSION over off the upright.

Penalty Cheetahs, on about halfway… they go for goal

Maak die kommentaar jou nie ook lus om dit te luister nie. Dit klink heel op die ball en daar is erkenning vir beide spanne.

  • 43

40 The Blues fail to roll away and Ebersohn will have a crack at goal from long range. It is a good kick and the PENALTY is over. The Cheetahs have fought and and have tackled a lot.

Cheetahs are their own worst enemies, the last Blues try was a typical example. The Cheetahs were hard on attack and were rushing the passes too much, causing the inevitable knock and from this turn-over possession the Blues carved them up to go score.

In other words, there should be more patience on attack and looking after making the passes stick much better.

    @ grootblousmile:
Thats why they only win the odd game or two, they have the skills, maybe not enough experienced players though. Just like the Lions, great team , great players and great game plan just not enough experience and BMT players.

  • 46

Kabamba why did you not dive on that bloody ball and secured it for your team? Dammit it is frustrating.

  • 47

    45@ superBul:
Cheetahs game plan, just like the Lions game plan is fatally flawed…

The thing is though, when they play SA biggies like the Bulls, they tighten up the structure a bit and as a result are much more competative. Face it, they do not play as expansively against the Bulls.

It is frustrating to see them run well here but not looking after the most important thing, principal possession and making the passes.

42 The Blues go to the backline and they are well met by the Cheetahs defenders. McAlister loses the ball forward and it is snapped up by Floors who sets off and hacks ahead. He gets there first but can’t control it with his boot and Payne clears up.

    47
exactly , so true. They must play the game they play against the Bulls…always

  • 50

43 Afoa takes it off the back of the line-out as the Blues rumble into the 22, they are right there and the Cheetahs defence on the back foot but Lowrey loses it forward and the Cheetahs have a defensive scrum.

  • 51

45 Viljoen finds touch but Ranger takes it quickly and the Blues back three look to have a crack. Payne cuts buck and seems to have found some space but there was obstructive running and the Cheetahs will look for touch.

  • 52

Almost a Blues try, knocked over the line

  • 53

47 The Blues steal the line-out and Brett kicks it deep but Viljoen is there and he calls the mark. He finds touch but the Blues will be in good position here. They go to Brett but he loses it after a sloppy pass. They get it back and Saili finds space on the right touchline. He is brought down just short and he flips it back infield. They seem like they must score after a neat inside ball from Brett but the ball is lost forward in contact on the line. Desperate stuff from the Cheetahs there.

    Luke McAlister slots a penalty

Daai rooi target kol op die nuwe Bulls jersey lyk maar akkies

53 Brett puts an excellent low kick into touch on the 22 and the Blues are on the front foot again. Ebersohn clears after the line-out and the Blues lose it forward at the front of the line-out so the Cheetahs will have a scrum.

  • 59

55 A good scrum from the Blues and Pretorius kicks ahead. It is run back by Toeava and the Blues make good ground with Afoa finding space in midfield. They get over halfway and Braid breaks out. He gets it away to Stanley and the ball is recycled quickly and given to Saili who crashes over for the TRY in the right corner.
