The Vodacom Bulls hosted the Highlanders at Loftus, Pretoria at 19:10 SA Time. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1, SHD and M-Net on TV in SA.
The Highlanders continued their unbeaten run and scored a bonus point for tries whilst the Bulls end their unbeaten run at home and only salvaged a bonus point for losing by only 7 points.
It was a disasterous game from a Bulls perspective, with bad refereeing and general bad play and sloppy tackling by all the Bulls players. Today it is frustrating to be a Bulls supporter.

Maar, die ref het ook gehelp, daardie laaste hand was reg voor Dickie se oë, daar is nie ‘n manier hoe hy dit kon gemis het nie.
Soos ek sê, ons het nie verdien om te wen nie, maar sulke foute help nie dat ons die refs vertrou nie.
Never saw the game, will watch tomorrow sometime for my feeling. BUT this is a huge shock, really thought Bulls would have won this one.
My bru is well and true in a bloody mess. Might as well give it up……hehehe.
Well take the positive Bulls supporters, your team got a bonus point. Could have lost against Cheetahs and Lions and they won. So that is a positive. So don’t think it is a major worry, well not yet anyhow.

Bulls with a penalty and put it out for the try. Bulls now giving it everything and in the highlander 22 and moving forward and only 5m out, Bulls ramming it up and a knock on gives the Highlanders a scrum as the siren sounds! Bulls turn it and win it and have a last chance but a knock on causes the reff to call the game. Thats it for the last game of the weekend. Well done to the Highlanders who beat the Bulls 35-28.
Bulle se probleem is sy losvoorspelers, daar is probleme en hoe gouer ons dit aanspreek hoe beter. Flippie het groot verskil gemaak.

@ grootblousmile:138 – Not all lost, this is a very long tourney and many will lose some at home. Your team picked up a point. That just may be enough. Look on the positive. Bulls could have been 0/3 but 2/3 with a bonus. I think they have done okay. They will rectify what went wrong.
What worries me more is our game plan is sick, 2 we got away with , this time a good team beat us, congrats to all Highlanders.
Although i misbehaved today , i know we were beaten by a hungrier, more composed team. The ref made mistakes but my team made 5 times more. What the heck are we doing in the defense department?
It’s all my fault that the Bulls lost…. I could not find my Bulls rugby jersey today, so I came in one of my blue Golf Shirts…. it’s all my fault… I jinxed them!

Dalk is hierdie net die wakker skrik wat die Bulle nodig gehad het, want hul speel lusteloos, duik nie voluit nie, te veel knocks. Een van daardie aande.

At least your team have no injuries to worry about. WE might be without 4 players next week and for the rest of the tourney. Sharks have huge worries. Hope not so serious the injuries. But watching Odwa on that strecther, think he has a serious injury. Well it looked that way to me. Also JPP might have a serious injury. We have no other wings, well of their class.
Super, the ref had a bad game but not quite as bad as some of the tackling that was on display today.

143: ja, die gevaarligte het die eerste 2 wedstryde geflikker, en ek het gehoop ons sou vanaand wys waarom ons die kampioene is. Maar daar het niks van gekom nie. Staatmakers het almal swak gespeel. Dit is net Flippie, Guthro en Zane wat goed lyk, die res is of swak of gemiddeld.
Een van die ‘voordele’ is dat die albatros van aanhou wen op Loftus nou gebreek is, so nou sal die manne besef elke wedstryd is oorlog van voor af, laasjaar en die jare voor dit is verby, ons moet nou van voor naam maak.
