Who is going to play 18?

Well, the 3 left to choose from for the “18 An Other” option is Bissie, Jannie & Zane…

So now the coach has to decide whether he wants to go for a 4 – 3 split between forwards and backs or a 5 – 2 split.

Think Jannie is carrying a calf niggle and it would be silly to go for 3 hookers… so the logical option would be to play Zane… specially so with the potent backline attack of the Baabaas.

I would have gone with the 4 – 3 split.

Willem Alberts at openside? Willem is a machine, but not a fetching fundi. In the matches he came on as a sub, he played blindside, with Juan playing openside.

Kanko at No 8 worries me, he’s not been on form and when he has run with the ball he has chosen wrong options and run away from the side where support was strongest… would have preferred to see Keegan Daniel at Openside, Juan at blindside, Alberts at No 8.

Interesting that we have an all Free State Cheetahs front row… hope they go well as a unit… but when last DID they play next to each other… Coenie has promise, Adriaan Strauss is strong and accurate, CJ… bit of a mixed bag.

Glad Andries Strauss was flown over as inside center, even if only to bolster midfield defence, the other options to play center was problematic as far as I’m concerned, specially from a defensive point of view.

    5 & 6@ Puma:
Mmmm, so I see… am a bit slow today.

Slept really badly, Handbriekie suffering from a massive migrane head ache, kept me up most of the night…

Like a good little soldier I massaged her neck and back with a good old massage oil, right in the middle of the night. Went and fetched something to drink…

Lambies chosen position is 15, he played there S14, but flyhalf at Currie Cup…he always has lots of time on the ball, I think he’ll be ok. Right in the beginning when we started talking about Baa baas I said I’d like to see Strauss there…glad he has got the chance.
Elton Jantjies is the one to watch, but he is probably young enough not to be overawed by the occasion and will play as well as he normally does…but link with first centre is a problem…lets hope they click. if 15 goes off Hougie can go to the back and McLeod can come on, also same if 10 goes off then Lambie can switch and the same can happen. Gio can also come to 15. We have it covered. OK now just hope the trains are running and the snow demons stay away on the day!!!

Loosehead I am a Cheetahs supporter btw, but unfortunately as my 2nd side of choice. Oh and I’m not English…I’m a German Saffa.

Just watched Sky News. The weather in England looks terrible. Not even sure this game will go ahead. Snow and rain is forecast for Saturday. Then they said the same for last Saturday, but the snow sure has come this week over there. See Gatwick Airport closed for now cause of the bad weather.
