After the All Blacks’ astounding successes in 2010 which has left them well and truly perched on the top of the world, their coach Graham Henry fears burn-out as they prepare for the 2011 World Cup.

Henry told the media: “Our biggest challenge is that they’ve got to be reasonably sharp mentally coming into the World Cup and the Tri-Nations prior.

“If they’re buggered it’s going to be very difficult. It’s keeping them fresh, it’s keeping on communicating with them and the Super 15 coaches to see how we can do that.”

All Black management will meet the Super 15 coaches in Wellington next week to start formulating plans and individual player programmes. It is mental burn-out that Henry fears most.

There are no plans to force Super coaches to rest players with the resentment that this could cause but rather cooperation with coaches. A suggestion would be that some of the leading players be allowed to take off  the week immediately prior or following a bye to give them a two-week rest.

Super rugby begins on 18 February 2011 and runs through to the middle of July, with two bye weekends per team.

The Tri-Nations starts on 30 July 2011 and runs till 27 August. The World Cup then starts on 9 September.

The All Black coaches intend spending time with each of the five New Zealand franchises on three occasions to meet individually all potential selections for the All Black squad. The visits will also give them a chance to interact with the coaches of each franchise.

Most of the Kiwi’s I’ve spoken to in London arent very bullish about their teams chance for the world cup….the talk sort of centres around that they HAVE peaked too soon. Apparently Henry is also getting a bit confused about who his starting lineup should be.

Personally I think that with the inclusion of Sonny Bill Williamson and dropping Nonu actually makes them one of the best teams I’ve seen for a long time. Carters kicking has been lousy though this year. Mils Muliaina also is probably past his best. When he came back from his rest and recuperation he was top drawer again, but it lasted for three games and he is looking a bit more pedestrian, but still one of the top fullbacks around. Otherwise there are no discernible weaknesses….when we play them we must just keep the ball away from them, thats all we can do and then score with the boot.

Anyone ever wondered if Peter is not pulling the wool over them. Laat ek dit eerder in Afrikaans se, dink julle nie partykeer dat ons hulle met n slap riem vang nie. Dalk ontplof die span en hardloop die k@k uit hulle in die WB.

Super…from your lips to Gods ears. with our front line team available, we certainly know how to breach them. I always think Saffa fans are far too negative about the Boks chances.
