The Wallabies led for most of the match and at one stage after halftime led by 19 / 6.
The All Blacks came from behind and ground out a penalty and 2 converted tries, thereafter closing out the win in the dying minutes.

Indeed, the wallas have squandered a big lead, as you say. However, tonight’s effort was a solid one, given long haul flights and 3 matches in a row. You know what, old mate? I feel the wallas have reached another level; their play is extraordinary and shows the ABs do, in fact, have opposition in next year’s world cup.

I agree…. Wallas are improving every game.
Was a solid performance from them though and I’m sometimes gob-smacked by their ability to break defence open and score scintilating tries.
Should the Bokke sharpen up their defence, then the All Blacks have opposition from 2 angles…. and then there’s the French….

So yes the AB’s have plenty of competition. And they are peaking this year, it’s months from next year’s RWC.

G’day PS. Indeed, I might be guilty of overrating the wallas and, as I said a few posts earlier, the French play an exciting brand of rugby and will be primed for a big effort next year.
The boks do certainly have their domestic problems to sort out, but even then, they can never be ruled out, the title of current world champions is still theirs.
I say: sell your house; sell your car; sell the family jewels, but BE in New Zealand next year for an enthralling Rugby World Cup

Congrats nga puhi, great result for the ABs – what an exciting match. It was a blue blood team up against a team of youngsters and newcomers, with the experts winning in the end. Truly enjoyable. However, I feel the best is yet to come from the exciting wallas. Arohanui ABs!!!!

Yip, I too think it will be a awesome world cup in NZ next year. A true rugby country like South Africa. Think we wont be seeing another world cup in a really true rugby country for so many years. We should all make the effort to get to NZ next year. By the time SA get it again might be in 2023. Who knows about what the future brings. Will we be fit to travel then. Or even be here for it? So next year I really want to go to NZ for the world cup. Really hoping to get there.
Very close game for your Wallabies OldG. Think the two tests at altitude and the travel took its toll as well. Another from behind win for the ABs. Can never count them out ever.

that would be the thrill of a lifetime….but alas i would probably have to deal with it through DSTv again. You realise what they charge for RWC packages so far? Doubt it if i could get enough liquidity by selling everything i own….
But i am also excited by a number of players in the Wallabies showing steel, but their decision making and defence is not good though. They need to back up their lethal attacking abilities with proper defence. How they lost their lead last Saturday is unbelievable. And today as well.
And i desperately wanted them to win this one, believe me. Just to shut a few gobs….
Boks playing with a strenght full team, leaving tired players out and they will be similar to what we experienced in the S14. With a coaching team who actually know what they are doing.

Just knew ABs would come back after they got it to 16/22 Far too much experience in that side. Also Wallabies would have been dead on their feet after playing two altitude games and having to travel.

their performance this year is a team peaking. It is end of the season of the 3N. Therefore the way they won speaks for itself, everybody is tired at this stage. Hell look at the Boks who played in the S14 final, they did not have a good 3N at ALL!
But i understand you viewpoint, it would be sooooo Kiwi to start worrying now about that same tag our Proteas carry these last number of years, uhm make that decade.
Nevermind, imho they are the international team of the year and worked hard for it, well done.
