Was this year really such a massive failure? What will Peter answer to questions and what plans will he put on the table.

If you were part of the review panel on the 28th of September , what would you ask Peter? Post your questions here.

Some positive facts

The team stayed mostly together,  no panic by chopping and changing.

The fightback in all the Tests.

The team ise still happy to play under him, (debatable , lets see how the players react if SARU rules against him).

Negative facts, excuses , valid or not

Lot of detractions, Soccer World Cup.

The 100th games hype and all it’s side shows.

The New Law Interpretation changes by the Referees.

De Villier’s use of the substitutes at crucial stages.

His Record in 2010

Tri Nations – Played 6 , Won 1, Lost 5

Other international games in 2010 – Played 4, Won 4

His Media performance

Foot in the mouth disease, his language no longer an excuse.

The Bees Roux saga, this made people far away from Rugby cringe and woke up the politicians.

The blaming of the Referees especially during the first 3 Tri-Nations was not handled well.

In 4 matches this year we had to play catch up rugby. The early yellow cards was severe on us. Both we agreed was harsh.
The Bakkies one was after the Television Channel kept showing the head butt. That specific game was swung by TV, the ref was influenced by it , there is no doubt about it. In that 10 minutes the game slipped. Can we blame the coach for this.

The Danie Roussouw yellow, total over reaction by the ref. That 10 minutes cost us again.

The starts Australia had is what most teams dream of. We were caught fast asleep, we must blame our defensive structure or lack of it . This type of start is how the Bulls started their Super 14 campaign in 2010. The Bulls also conceded a lot but they scored more tries than the opposition.

Then the match deciding errors by the Refs in the 4th and 6th games. They would have made a massive difference in the way we view PdeV’s year.

PDV, in the test at the Calabash, Morne Steyn kicked the possession away – under whose instructions was that?

PDV, after you came back from the antipodes you said you have realised that the Bulls and Stormers play two different game plans and that was the reason the guy sdidn’t stick to plan – What preparation do you do, before the test season begings, and how did you not know this before you went.

PDV, You said after all that the springboks won last year, there was perhaps a lack of motivation – Do you actually select players who aren’t motivated?

PDV, you say there is only small tweaks that needs to be made, and everyone is on track to achive RWC win next year -Do you honestly beleive that is the case, and what about the conditioning of the players.

PDV – Who manages the communication with Frans Steyn, Butch James and their clubs?

PDV, Are you capable of making the necessary changes, and what will they be.

Snorre, beplan jy enige nuwe items vir die sirkus volgende jaar ?

  • 16

Will he ever shave his Snor?

  • 17

Manne eerlik was ons regtig so sleg die jaar.

Will he be keeping Muir and Gold. Or dropping them and getting two top class assistant coaches.

A business deal between former Springbok coach Jake White, local publishing business Highbury Safika Media, and rugby writer Mark Keohane has turned sour, ending up in the Western Cape High Court.

Aeysha Kassiem of the Cape Times reports that Highbury and Keohane have applied to place the venture with White under provisional liquidation.

Keohane, employed by Highbury Safika as the publishing director, said in court papers that the application was in fact a “last resort” after “every endeavour to resolve the dispute” over the joint company, Jake White’s Winning Way (PTY) Ltd, of which they are all shareholders.

No doubt the refs inconsistencies had a role to play superBul but how you can use the Bakkies one as something that went against the Boks I don’t know, he should have got a RED for the head butt in spite of it being retaliation to cheating by the Kiwi, then we would have lost that game by more I think.

    @ Bullscot:
Bullscott dont be stuborn or stupid, i never complained that Bakkies 9 week suspension was unfair.

Look at it this way.The ref and Assistants missed the incident, right.

Then the TV made sure they were made aware of it, from then on the ref knew he must get one back on Bakkies. If the TV did not make a fuss about it Bakkies would not be carded, but OK he did something that gave the ref a chance to dish out a yellow. One that many commentators said was harsh.

The worst part of it all was that the ref still felt he did not do enough so he decided i will reward McCaw with a free hand to do whatever he wants but for him, i will not card him no ways. TV made sure the ref changed his attitude towards the Bok team.

No one knows what would have happened if Bakkies was seen and red carded. We might have brought Danie on and then the whole complexity of the game would have changed. Maybe Schalk or Spies would have been taken off.

    I should have added.
So the Citing officer should have dealt with it further.

    Questions I would ask.
Do you intend getting a spokesperson or media manager to assist you at interviews. If not, how will you avoid the contoversy you create in the future.
Why did you not play players who needed game time after the Tri Nations.
What did you mean by the team going into a laager, do you not agree that the rugby public have a right to know certain things.
What are your objectives for EOYT and Tri Nations next year.
How do you intend going about these objectives.
What were your objectives since 2007 when you took over and if these werent met have you analysed why they weren’t. If they were met, why did you lose 90% of the games.
Do you intend making any coaching personnel changes.
Do you intend making any player changes (notwithstanding form and injuries)

  • 26

I would ask PDV, is Percy coming over to Europe on the EOYT, if so please may I ‘borrow’ him for a while? 😉

  • 27

    @ Blue Bird:
Did you hear Percy divorced his wife last week.
