Racing-Metro’s South African back Francois Steyn says he’s prepared not to take part in next year’s World Cup because of the lack of respect shown to him and his club.

“Peter de Villiers (the South Africa coach) was due to come to Paris on September 18,” Steyn told Midi Olympique newspaper.

“He cancelled the meeting. It’s not the first time he’s done that. It’s a lack of respect for Racing and a lack of respect for me.”

The 23-year-old Steyn, a member of South Africa’s World Cup-winning squad in 2007, joined Racing for the 2009 season but has only rarely been called up since then.

He was lately selected for the Springboks’ final Tri-Nations games this season but had to contend with criticism from de Villiers, who has been outspoken on the form of South Africans playing in European leagues.

“When John Smit (Clermont) or Victor Matfield (Toulon) came to France, everything was clear between the South African Rugby Football Union, them and their clubs,” Steyn said.

“I don’t understand why the federation doesn’t act in the same way with Racing. It has said and promised many things but nothing has been upheld.

“I don’t see why I would respect people who don’t respect me, who don’t respect my club.

“I’ve got this umpteenth meeting cancelled as proof. I’ve taken note of that and so expect nothing more from the Springboks.”

Steyn added of his participation in the World Cup: “It’s too early to say whether I’ll not be there. But I’ll definitely do what Racing want. If my bosses don’t want me to go, I won’t.”

The pro-Steyn media lobby believe the booming boot of the former Coastal Shark and ability to kick penalties from extraordinary distances make him indispensable for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand.

I did Add some animation to the TOP Menu’s and a few other tweaks, so it is about 2 or 3 seconds slower… but it should never Take 15 or 30 seconds or more like in Puma’s case.

Ok, I am just waiting for the taxi now, then off to the airport, I wonder if I will find a SKY sport program at Heathrow, so I can watch the Sharks/Lions game.

@ Puma:17 – Back to my post to Morne.

I sometimes get out of going overseas to meetings. I don’t like to travel as much as I did with my rubbish knees. But I don’t just not pitch up. If I can’t make it I do get someone else to go instead. Let the company know well before the date. PdV should have sent Muir if he never wanted to go.

@ superBul: I got the Monkey out quick well there were two of them. Got a towel ahd waved it at them and they jumped out. 😀 BUT never got to my bin in time. Damn took the bin out the garage this morning to do something and forgot to put it back. Never keep the bin out here in Umhlanga cause of the Monkeys. Well they got to that before I did. Huge mess they made. Now have a rope tied on the bin to keep it close. But put it back in the garage.

    Those Monkeys can be naughty…..hehehe.

4man…haahahaha. No buddy I will never shoot a Monkey ever. I don’t even own a gun, never have. Just got them out by waving a towel at them.

    @ Puma:
Unfortunately when they lose their fear of humans they become a huge nuisance and bite people, particularly kids and they carry rabies, so it ens badly for all of them, because then the authorities have a general cull.
They shouldnt get fed in the first place and we should maintain the position of dominant ape and display aggression to them.
    OK I’m out.

@ 4man:38 – 4man, Sorry missed your post. Travel well mate.

Ja, those monkeys can carry rabies, I know. I never feed them, we have feeding stations here, but they still get into our bins and try and take chances if the windows are open and come in. Made a right mess of the outside after raiding the bin. Think the poor okes are starving mate. The reason they raid the bins and the golf carts here too..hehe. Not funny though if it is your cart or bin or if they raid the house, which does happen. Nothing in my study for them. So got them out quick just waving the towel at them. Still scary seeing two of them in the room.
