Really great team that. Though Keegan has been in fantastic form not sure if I would have started him this week. Maybe would have gone with Deysel there and Keegan on the bench or leave Botes at 6.

Looking forward to seeing Lambie at FH. So far he has excelled at FB and inside centre.

@ sharky_forever:Sharky that could be a concern if Lambie got injured. Will mess things up a bit if that happened. Think Rory has played FH before. Not sure if they would play him there though.

Agree, I would have had Deysel with Alberts and Kanko to start. Just look how terrific they were against the Stormers.

Proud of Lambie getting CC player of the month.

    @ sharky_forever:2 – Sharky,

We have some really good depth in the front row. That front row is just as good if not better. Then to think we have Smit and Bissie. Sharks looking good buddy, for this currie cup and for next year’s S14. With JLP, Bosman and maybe Mapoe coming into the mix too.

Now can’t wait for our game against the Stormers at the Tank. Should be a cracker. We will know where we are once we play them.

puma you remember me telling you about this young lambie around 2 years ago???

now here is 3 other names to remember from natal schools

    Jacques Ungerer-Maritzburg College scrum half
Fred Zeilinger-rated the most promising up and comming fly half in South Africa
P Howard-inside center , KZN Schools and Junior Boks

Zeilinger would have made the Junior Boks but broke an ankle shortly before the Craven week

I read an article where Jake White had huge admiration for Zeilinger

Zeilinger molds himself very much in the johnny Wilkinson style of play good balanced runner and great kicker

    @ Puma:4 – Meant S15

@ sharky_forever:5 – I do remember you mentioning Lambie so always looked out for him playing. Now will remember those names too. Pleased they are coming out of Natal for a change too.

Zeilinger sounds good Sharky. I normally watch craven week. This year never watched one game, due to the world cup and having visitors here. So will look out for him.

    @ sharky_forever:Sharky,

Looking forward to seeing Lambie play at FH this week. Will be interesting. Still though don’t like him been moved about all the time. Hope he has a good game.

Lions are looking far, far better with the kiwi coach. Pity he has to leave and let Muir take over again. All his good work might be for nothing. Feel for that Franchise. There young FH is also really top class.

I have it on very good authority that the chances of The Kiwi staying are VERY GOOD INDEED, with Tricky Dicky moving upstairs as DOC. (don’t know why they would want to keep him?)

Negotiations are quite advanced, and the players really like his style of coaching, so everything to gain if he stays.

Mitchel has also said that he doesn’t want to bring too many players in, as he thinks that the current bunch of youngsters could develop nicely.

He has said however that the process could take a couple of years. (Think I’ve heard that before!)

Having said that the Lions are still looking at negotiating with some “senior players” once the contract window opens next month.

They (the Lions) are reportedly also busy negotiating with a number of youngsters that Hans Coetzee identified recently.

Already training with the Sharks: Lionel Mapoe. (c) Gallo

The ongoing legal battle between the Cheetahs and the Sharks – over the services of wing Lionel Mapoe – came a step closer to being resolved, when the arbitration case was presented on Thursday.

The arbitrator has now said that he will deal with the case as a matter of urgency, but has reserved his judgment for the time being.

Neither the Sharks, nor the Cheetahs, are prepared to back down, as Mapoe is one of the brightest young backline talents in the country.

In a case congruous to the Willem Alberts and Louis Ludik scenario (a tug-of-war between the Lions and the Sharks at the end of last year/start of this year), the Sharks stand accused of having ‘stolen’ the star Cheetahs wing, Mapoe, who joined the Sharks and began training with them in May.

Sharks CEO, Brian van Zyl, claimed in a statement – in May – that the Sharks had already signed up the Cheetahs wing

However, Free State Rugby Union President Harold Verster maintained throughout that the Cheetahs had a valid contract with Mapoe that stretches until October 31, 2011.

Here we go 15 12 10 … so Lambie is slowly making his way through the numbers I guess at this rate he will be playing prop 1 by the end of the season. All this moving around, I think the time is ripe to try and get him to come back to his roots, there is a spot at Glasgow for a good flyhalf. 😉
