Pat Lambie will wear the No 10 jersey this week given the injuries to Steve Meyer and Ruan Pienaar. It’s been confirmed that Pienaar’s AC joint injury will sideline him for six weeks, a layoff that ends his stint with the Sharks and the Springboks. Pienaar will be moving to Ulster in Ireland in September.

The extent of Meyer’s injury is yet to be learned, but the knee ligament could rule him out for some time. Meanwhile, Bok hooker Bismarck du Plessis could be back as early as the weekend after missing the last three months of rugby with a neck injury.

Various other playersstill out due to injuries, ” Jannie DuPlessis, Adi Jacobs, Odwa Ndugane, Gerhard Mostert, Alistair Hargreaves, Micheal Rhodes, Riaan Swannepoel, Lionel Mapoe” although is does seem Jannie DuPlessis and Alistair Hargreaves should also be ready to play this comming weekend.

The situation regarding Lionel Mapoe is still unclear, and one is also unsure as to is he injured or is he unable to play because of the contractual dispute.

A possible team to face the Lions this comming weekend could be as follows:

15  louis Ludick, 14 Lwazi Mvovo, 13 Stefan Terblanche, 12 Andries Strauss, 10 Patrick Lambie, 09 Charl Mcleod, 08 Ryan Kankowski, 07 Willem Alberts, 06 Jean Deysel, 05 Alistair Hargreaves, 04 Steven Sykes, 03 Wiehahn Herbst, 02 Craig Burden,Tendai  Beast Mtawarira

Reserves: 16 Bismark DuPlessis/Kyle Cooper, 17 Patric Cilliers/ Jannie DuPlessis, 18 Ross Skeate/Jacques Botes, 19 Keegan Daniel, 20 Rory Cockott, 21 Monty Dumond, 22 Odwa Ndugane/Riaan Swannepoel

    Sharky,

Well we have no option but to play Lambie at FH, but really are we messing with this youngster like we done with Ruan and Frans Steyn? Should we not be playing Monty at FH and just leave Lambie at inside centre?

Also read that Ludick might be injured. If he is who fills in there if Odwa is still out injured?

So he has played fullback, center and now set for fly…

A certain Ruan Pienaar springs to mind…

Why do the Sharks still have Monty in their squad? 3rd or 4th year in the mix , but not good enough to stand in?

I quite like this guy, he seems to be full of promise. Hopefully someone close to him will whisper in his ear about being a Jack of all trades.

    @ superBul:

Because Monty is in the same league of Herkie Kruger, he is a journey man at best.. Lambie is the next big thing, mark my words.
