It seems Utility Back Conrad Hoffmann of Western province is heading to warmer waters. The Sharks are hoping to offer the young WP versatile player a new home at the tank in Durban.

While rumours have been rife in the press yesterday that the Sharks scrumhalf Rory Cockott could be heading for the Cape, News24 can reveal that Conrad Hoffmann is contemplating a permanent move to Durban. Hoffmann will be on the bench for WP in their Currie Cup match against the Sharks in Durban at the Tank.

The Sharks are in search for a replacement for the versatile Ruan Pienaar, who heads for the UK, and are hoping Hoffman could be that man. The 22 year old Hoffman has played scrumhalf and fullback this year for WP, his problem being a regular start for WP at scrumhalf as he has Dewaldt Duvenhage and Ricky January ahead of him in the pecking order.

It will come as no surprise if he does if he does sign with the Sharks, According to Allister Coetzee however there is a chance Hoffmann could start at 15 with Jantjies moving to the wing.

Fabian Juries has a leg injury and it is very doubtful he will play. JJ Engelbrecht and Danie Poolman have also been in good form for the WP under 21. Coetzee also denied the Cockott for to Cape Town as nothing more than a wild rumour, just a rumour “ a wild rumour “ he said. It would also be interesting to see if the Sharks this week start with Cockott or Mcleod.
