4man, fellow blogger sent me the following mail, an Article picked up from the hillarious site, haibo.com.
It’s tongue in cheek and totally meant for mirth only, so please don’t take offense!
The Authors of this Article, haibo.com are reknowned for their satirical view on various matters in SA.
We stress the fact that this Article in no way reflects the viewpoint of the Author of this Article on Rugby-Talk and in no way reflects the Official stance of Rugby-Talk on the matter.
From an early read of the comments to the Article, it appears that the Article is still offensive to some readers of Rugby-Talk, notwithstanding the fact that the Article is clearly listed under the Category of “THE FUNNY SIDE” and notwithstanding the fact that we have clearly warned that this Article does not represent the truth and accordingly that no offense should be taken.
Why is it funny when someone like Zapiro regularly draws caricatures of very prominent people, some with showerheads above their heads… and understood to be satirical in nature, but this Article is deemed to be offensive and slanderous!
I say, grow up, laugh at yourself and the wonderful country we inhabit!
A warning to those who choose to spam this Article with senseless comments and needless duplication… stop your actions, we will take action!
SYDNEY. Clowns around the world are threatening mass action unless Australian commentator Brendon Cannon makes a public apology for calling Peter De Villiers a clown. In a statement signed in custard this morning, international clowns said that while De Villiers also frightened children, calling him a clown was a “shameful insult” to clowns.
The quasi-verbal South African coach demanded an on-air apology from Cannon last week after the former Wallaby described De Villiers as a “clown”, sending shockwaves through the international clown community.
Cannon apologised on Friday after his employers, Fox Sports, feared being shut out of press conferences described by many pundits as an intoxicating combination of stand-up comedy, yodelling and remedial folk-dancing.
However, this morning clowns around the world demanded justice too.
Calling on their colleagues to “squirt the water of injustice out of the plastic flower of outrage” and threatening to crush Cannon and De Villiers “under the unicycle of revenge”, clowns said that they were “not joking”.
According to Bonzo Pratt-Faull, a spokesman for the powerful Belgian clown lobby, it was unacceptable that Cannon had described De Villiers as a clown. However, he added that it was possible Cannon had made an “understandable mistake”.
“Obviously there are many, many ways in which Mr De Villiers emulates our noble profession,” said Pratt-Faull.
“Like us, he does not use words to express himself but rather a succession of spasmodic grunts, squeals and moans.
“And yes, like us he causes most children who see him to burst into tears, terrified by a somewhat otherworldly manic twinkle in his eyes.”
He added that De Villiers was also highly skilled at walking a tightrope – “in his case, between idiocy and comedy” – and usually ended most shows with egg on his face.
But, said Pratt-Faull, clowns had to train for at least four years before they could perform, whereas it apparently took no qualifications other than a handlebar moustache to become Springbok coach.
Meanwhile, De Villiers has spoken out publicly about the fracas during a press conference this morning.
However, it remains unclear what he said, as journalists were unable to distinguish any words as his high-pitched whining caused dogs to howl and garage doors to open.
Gbs, this is not funny at all. I love a good laugh but really this is a disgrace to put up a article like this. I agree with Ash, REMOVE THIS ARTICLE.
I stand with Superbru and Ash on this. Let us support our coach. The real problems lay with Dick Muir and Gary Gold.

puma we must not remove it now, the lessons must be learned out of this. PdV gave us a lot of leeway with the politicians. We dont want to go into WC year with a new outburst of kwota stuff. This core group of PdV includes almost all the players we love, we dont need the instability now. I feel strong about it and i know i might be criticized for this now.
So to belittle Peter now is only stirring the pot and this is playing straight into the enemies hand. Enemy is off course our biggest rivals for the RWC title.
Players are reading the press and this is the time for South Africans to stand by our coach.

OK GBS this was bound to ruffle a few feathers, personally I like for us to laugh at ourselves, we dont do enough of it as a Nation.
OK seriously now.
Lets never forget what Patriotism is, it is about loving your country or your team ALL THE TIME, but absolutely reserving the right to criticise our leaders when they are in the wrong. The Bok leadership has got a problem, as head coach PDV must take his part of the flak.
But as I said on the blog a couple of days ago “if he is a clown, then he is OUR clown” and Cannon and the rest of them can “gaan k*k in die mielies”, the best way for us to answer our detractors is to now give them both a hiding in our home games. The “enemy” has been very quiet for the last 3 years because they couldnt beat us, now they see their gap….fukkim I say, lets go and win…and do everything that it takes to do that and lets forget about the holy cows and laugh at ourselves from time to time.
The Haibo site has some of the sharpest edged satire I have every seen in South Africa and that is good, because it puts us on a par with the rest of the free world.
Our opposition teams mostly respect us…A VERY SMALL MINORITY are our enemies and try to denigrate us…just keep that in perspective too. Fitzpatrick who does the rugby observations quite often on SKY TV is our enemy, despite that he was big enough to call it that SA would win the world cup last time. I said it 3 years ago and I’ll say it again PDV must get a spokesman to talk for him…unfortunately he didnt and now we have this ridiculous situation. Performance wise, I dont ahve a problem with him so far, but he has stumbled here now in this series of incidents and how he gets up will ultimately form my long term view of him…I hope he is up to it.
