Die playing surface at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, due to it’s slightly oval shape does not provide for normal in-goal areas, as required by rugby and therefore the in-goal areas would have to be made slightly smaller.

According to barend van Graan, Chief Executive Officer of the Bulls they are aware of this factor but he assures us that the pitch will be within SANZAR requirements.

There is ongoing discussions with SANZAR and it appears that the in-goal areas might be a metre smaller, alternatively that the rest of the playing area might be shrunk slightly.

No problems are expected in this regard.

Various Club pitches in England are known for their narrow in-goal areas whilst the IRB Sevens Tournament in Las Vegas also had to be shrunk due to the fact that it is principally meant for American Gridiron games.

Tickets for the semi-final in Orlando will go on sale on Monday and will be available from SuperSport Park in Centurion and via sales at Computicket. Credit Card purchases for Season Ticket holders will also be made via the phone.

Van Graan made a plea to all Bulls supporters to go and support the Bulls and to be part of the “Bulls-Invasion” into Soweto.

Final arrangements, ticket pricing and travel options will be made available in the next day or two.

Looks like a nice stadium. Just the grass on the field don’t look good. Hope it gets sorted. Needs to grow a lot in the next week. Seats are normal soccer stadium seats and not rugby by not going much higher. Though still it looks really good there.

Hope all the Bulls Supporters come out and fill the stadium. Make it go blue…hehe. Only full house for Loftus was against the Sharks. So hoping this is full house.

    Go Bulls for the semi.

2 – gbs, Okay then that is not a issue. Looks like a nice stadium there. How much can it hold? Think more than Loftus? Not too sure.

    Loftus 50000. Orlando 40000.

4 – dWeePer, then that is not good for the Supporters if it holds less. Less money at the gate for the Semi. If it is a Stormer and Bulls final then expect plenty Stormers to travel up for that game. So less seats is not good actually. Thought somehow it was more than 40 000 but really not too sure.

I’ve read that the Bulls will make at least 2000 tickets available for the Stormers if it turns out to be a Stormers/Bulls final 😆
