The Vodacom Bulls will face the Crusaders in Saturday’s semi-final of the Super 14 in Orlando Stadium with their most experienced team yet.

Fourteen of the starting line-up has won the Super 14 competition before, with the locking combination of Danie Rossouw and Victor Matfield who played more than a 100 matches of Super Rugby. Matfield will play in his 100th match for the Bulls.

The suspension of Bakkies Botha gives Matfield and Rossouw another chance to start a match together, with Jaco Pretorius also declared fit and fronting up with Wynand Olivier in the midfield.

Jaco van der Westhuyzen and Gary Botha, stalwarts of the 2007 win, are back for another bite at a final. Van der Westhuyzen, who replaces the suspended Gerrit van den Heever, is the only survivor of the Bulls team that lost to the Stormers in Cape Town last weekend.

The team is: 15. Zane Kirchner, 14. Jaco van der Westhuyzen, 13. Jaco Pretorius, 12. Wynand Olivier, 11. Francois Hougaard, 10. Morné Steyn, 9. Fourie du Preez, 8. Pierre Spies, 7. Dewald Potgieter, 6. Deon Stegmann, 5. Victor Matfield (c), 4. Danie Rossouw, 3. Werner Kruger, 2. Gary Botha, 1. Gurthrö Steenkamp. Replacements: 16. Bandise Maku, 17. Bees Roux, 18. Flip van der Merwe, 19. Derick Kuün, 20. Jacques-Louis Potgieter, 21. Stephan Dippenaar, 22. Pedrie Wannenburg.

Great span……….gaan amazing wees.

Very good team this. Bulls should win it. Just keep the discipline, keep possesion and get first time tackles. Don’t allow the Saders to run it from everywhere in the first 30 min. Keep the ball and starve em of it. Saders will want to get as much points while fresh in the first 30min. They do that then it will be tough for Bulls. Bulls keep the ball Saders will be under pressure. Saders going to tire terrible in the last 25min of this game. Wont be the same as the last game at Loftus. The travel by now must have taken its toll.
