Sharks problem is they came second at the breakdowns. They just couldn’t establish front foot ball. The were in essence never able to break te defence lines of the bulls other than the two individual breaks (one by the winger and the other by Kockett).

The sharks hasn’t bought into the pods system used by the bulls and the stormers and their mauling from the lineouts are basically also poor. Add to that the fact that they came second in the scrum -in most matches this year- and you can understand why they never treathen to score tries.

To top it off the don’t have any pressence in the midfield. So how can you win matches if your pack can get you on the front foot, your scrum struggles (because you play a hooker on prop) and you have nobody in the midfield who can test the oppositions defencive patterns?

They need to get Frans Steyn and Butch James back and start working on innovative pattrens to take the ball up and breach the defensive lines with their pack.
