Bulls lock Bakkies Botha was cited for a charging into a ruck during his team’s Super 14 match against the Stormers at Newlands Stadium, in Cape Town.
Citing Commissioner Freek Burger cited Botha under Law 10.4 (h) for dangerously and recklessly entering a ruck without using his arms or grasping a player.
Botha made contact with Stormers right wing Gio Aplon in the second minute of the match. Aplon required treatment on the field as a result. The Stormers won the match, 38-10.
Botha will attend a judicial hearing at 13h00 on Monday, 17 May 2010, at the offices of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union in Pretoria.

It seems as if Bakkies believes his own press. He plays on his reputation as a “hard man” instead of playing the game. Wade Dooley would give him a pakslae.

Nobody has the guts to mention Wikus Blauw charge on Bakkies in the same ruck. A charge that had no arms, and very clear intent. The difference is that Bakkies did not make a scene about it, he simply played on. Not one word from the one eyed match official on that! Oh no! Nor from the one eyed Stormers supporters! Admit it! You lot are scared to face Bakkies in a Full Bulls pack! Even the little Bulls creamed you in the scrums! Imagine what the Full Bulls scrum is going to do to you? Keep in mind, Orlando stadium is Lions country. And should you loosers even MAKE the final…. I am going to pick my seat right inside the largest group of Stormers. So that I can laugh in your faces when you go down!!! If not, I will just buy each Waratah I can find a huge beer for shutting your loud mouths!!!
