    Retief played holes 9, 10, 11 in +4

Its ok the Saffas scored 75, they will get the moer in and do alright and better and better the rest of the tournament. How did Ernie go, I havent looked at the tv yet? oh and the hole chaser, how did he go?

4man i think i will get a heart attack, rather play golf, moer that is a busy sport.

  • 64

60@ Sammajoor – Sykes is good… but Muller is way past it now… and Hargreaves is too light in the panties… Sharks should now use their loan lock (from the Bulls), Wilhelm Steenkamp, in Muller’s place… with Sykes as his locking partner.

Ernie is on -3 after 15 holes. Lying 3rd at the moment, its early days. The problem with those 75,s they are around 75TH place, the cutt allows under 70 players in rounds 3 to 4

Flok, 4Man’s sport sounds like a good old “Opfok” on the rifle range… gryp vir jou ‘n ammokas roof… targets toe en terug…. klap ‘n toon!

Fark, that ammo case was a LASTIGE flippen thing to run with….

… and there was ALWAYS a DOM ROOF who had his R4 on “RACE” when it was supposed to be on single shot….

  • 67

4man, I am with superBul, that sounds like punishment not sport!! 😉

  • 68

You wont believe it Phil Mickleson is playing well again, he just loves the Masters. He is currently on -4

  • 69

Super…”moer”,,,ha ha moenie opgee is oefen nog.

Ja combat rifle shooting is not for sissies, of course I am retired now, but that doesnt make me a sissie, in my last year when I was 54 I won NW Champs, I was crowned Gauteng champs, in 4 Provincial tournaments I was no lower than 5th place, I had the best long range scores in SA and I shot South Africa “A” side at Nationals and against the Dutch, I also coached the Presidents team (young shooters coming along shooting with open sights) and we beat SA juniors, Veterans and Masters so not like some rugby players, I retired at the top of my game.

ou ja, ammo boxes and truck tyres just have a seriously “wrong” shape, there is no way to carry those things without severely stuffing yourself up.

  • 71

How is the “hole chaser” doing at the golf?

  • 72

Blue bird, I have seen you here before…where are you from? I suppose from your colour you support the Bulls?

  • 73

    71@ Sammajoor – He’s doing his thing…. chasing little holes….

  • 74

There is always an element of punishment in sport, its all about getting those endorphins flowing…and I learned a loooong time ago, no pain, no gain.

  • 75

@73 and has he scored any yet?

  • 76

70@ Sammajoor – Pole PT was also a difficult excercize… specially if it had a Samil or Bedford Tyre in the middle…

Somewhere here in the late ’80’s they banned Pole PT…. and the ROOFS went farking soft….

  • 77

    72 – Yep, I am a Bulls Supporter…This is a good place to follow them from!! 😉

  • 78

4man he is on -1 after 3 holes.

  • 79

I never got into golf much, my brother and his son played a lot and my boy, my nephew was Natal junior champs and was playing scratch at 16, but he is now in England running a business called Yellow Capital. I was always busy shooting competitions, or diving and surfing…there is only so much off time. I suppose when I retire, I will probably be bang to go and surf back door pipeline on the north shore in hawaii on a 5 meter day!!! but that is still one of my goals in life.

  • 80

@76…it was interesting that in the 80’s lots of roofs were breaking limbs and they studied the abnormal statistic and came up with the esplanation of “tv legs” sitting too long watching tv and not playing outside. I remember when they banned pole pt…it was tough, if the guys in the middle didnt carry their weight it was hard…being 6′ 4″ I suffered a lot. The divers loved that stuff, in full wetsuit running in thigh deep water carrying the poles….the days when men were men and sheep were nervous.

  • 81

79@ Sammajoor – Golf is marvelous, it is one of the only things which keep me humble…. hehehehe

  • 82

‘Back door Pipe Line’ Whaaatttt is that? 😯

  • 83

Super…he will probably win it…i’ve never seen focus like that.

  • 84

    @82 Blue Bird
At the North shore on the island of Honolulu, when there is a Pacific major storm the swells pump through at 15 to 25 foot high. Waimea Bay is one of the places the guys surf, it is a right hand break on sand, backdoor pipeline is a left hand break and the wave breaks in about a meter of water on coral, so it is very fast and you must know your stuff, if you fall off, you will be badly cut or even killed, they have had a few deaths. Gerry Lopez who is my age, surfs pipeline he is the godfather of that place…google him you will see, also google back door pipeline.

I would love to see Ernie pushing him , The 2 young South Africans Imelman and Charl Schwartzel is on even par , but still early in their rounds.

  • 86

4man, think I will stay on the sunlounger thanks!! 😉

  • 87

Immelman is a machine, he could be the no 1 for a long time if he continues to improve at the rate he has been.
Ernie is ready, but he is like the French, you dont know which Ernie is going to turn up

  • 88

Ernie plays 3 rounds great and then blows it in the 4th round. Dont know why but it is frustrating.

  • 89

Ernie just did it again , most of the front runners birdie the last , Ernie comes and double bogey it to drop to -1.
    Round 1 – 71

  • 90

He just blew a faultless round on the last hole.
